Now, most of us know Disney was anti-Semitic, but few have ever publically stated it in this way, in front of millions. Also, his company was well known as "a gender bigot" but, that is another thing that is not well known. She took on a man that is considered a genius and icon in the industry. (let alone, his company is a major player in the media today) This statement is incredible and courageous. Meryl Streep is also a "saint" for using this stage to tell the truth....

Health Care Spending Growth Still Very Low

America continued to curb its spending on health care for the fourth year in a row.

Spending on health care grew by only 3.7% in 2012, continuing a streak of the slowest growth rates on record, according to data released Monday by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

The report looked at all spending on health care services, including doctors, drugs, hospitals and nursing homes, and research nationwide. It also breaks down who is doing the spending: consumers, Medicaid, Medicare and insurers.

Spending remained restrained due to the weak economy. People continued to pull back on medical care amid a continued weak job market and providers sought to keep prices in check. The Affordable Care Act had minimal impact, as many of the health reform's major provisions had yet to kick in.

I disagree with the third paragraph of this story, I think that ACA had some impact that helped keep spending down. That statement is an opinion, of the writer, rather than a fact proven. Why did providers keep prices in check?.. Still it is news, prices are very stable.

FEAR SELLS..!!

Sure it is cold. It has been cold before, and it will be cold again. Yes, it is very cold. But we have been through just as bad, and we have lived to tell the story. Almost all of our places have central heat, electricity and running water, (hot and cold) If we stay in, we will OK.. Heat brakes down, go to a warming center.

The media sells fear. Day in and day out. Over and over. FEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In the book 1984, the George Orwell wrote about keeping the population in constant fear. That was published in the 1949.. The current media has morphed into that prediction. It lies and creates fear all the time.

And it is bullshit about the cold weather. We as a nation can live through cold weather. It will get warmer. Yes, where I live we have 18 inches of snow on the ground. We have had that before. It is sad, that most people do not realize what lies are sent out by almost all of the media all of the time. The fear makes things worse, much worse. The mainstream media as a whole is among the biggest assholes in the world. Up there with the oil companies and drug companies..

North Carolina Town Councilman Resigns In Klingon

Indian Trail, N.C. town councilman David Waddell resigned from his post in Klingon, a language spoken by an extraterrestrial species in the famous series "Star Trek," the Charlotte Observer reported.

Waddell even ended his resignation with a Klingon proverb, "Perhaps today is a good day (to) resign."


The councilman wrote his four-line resignation letter in Klingon as an inside joke, and submitted an English translation and an extended letter entirely in English.

"Folks don’t know what to think of me half the time," Waddell said in a Thursday interview with the Observer. "I might as well have one last laugh."

Just for today: I shall try to live this day only not tackling all my problems at once. I can do something at this moment that would discourage me, if I had to continue it for a lifetime .

Just for today: I will try to be happy, realizing my happiness does not depend on what others do or say, or what happens around me. Happiness is a result of being at peace with myself.

Just for today: I shall be unafraid. Particularly I should be unafraid to be happy, to enjoy what is good, what is beautiful, and what is lovely in life..
