Benedict Cumberbatch Goes Off By Saying What We All Want To: ‘F*ck The Politicians’ (VIDEO)
Source: Addicting Info

But actor Benedict Cumberbatch isnt just furious about teabagger assholes, hes mad at all politicians who are handling the migration crisis in the worst ways possible. While starring in a performance of Hamlet at the Barbican in London, Cumberbatch has started saying a few things during the curtain call at the end of the show and asking the audience for a donation to help Syrian refugees. His work has actually raised over £150,000 ($230,000) for Save the Children.
But, Cumberbatch has taken issue with the British government who only plans to allow 20,000 refugees to enter the UK over five years. (As sad as that number is, the United States said initially wed only take in a total of 10,000.)
During the speeches and pleas for cash, Cumberbatch has been reading a poem titled Home by a Somali poet named Warsan Shire which reads in part:

no one leaves home unless
home is the mouth of a shark
you only run for the border
when you see the whole city running as well
your neighbors running faster than you
breath bloody in their throats
the boy you went to school with
who kissed you dizzy behind the old tin factory
is holding a gun bigger than his body
you only leave home
when home wont let you stay

Grocery Store’s Act Of Kindness For Child With Special Needs Puts Huge Smile On Her Face
Source: Reshareworthy
Like any kid, the grocery store is one of Beatrices favorite places to go. But grocery store trips havent been easy for 2-year-old Beatrice and her mother Melody. Thats because Beatrices cerebral palsy prevents her from being able to fit in a standard grocery cart.
Melody would have to get creative, but it was difficult on both her and Beatrice. That is, until recently, when the manager of the store noticed their struggles and decided to do something about it. Watching Melodys reaction when she sees what the store did for her, brought tears to my eyes.

1. L'ABSINTHE HAS BEEN KNOWN BY SEVERAL NAMES.
When it was first exhibited in the Third Annual Winter Exhibition in Brighton, it was called A Sketch in a French Cafe. Its also been called Figures at Cafe and In a Cafe (a title the Musée dOrsay still prefers). Later, The Absinthe Drinkers and Glass of Absinthe became popular alternatives. But its most frequently-used moniker fell into place when it was exhibited in London, 17 years after its completion.
2. ITS SETTING WAS A POPULAR ARTIST HANGOUT.
The restaurant depicted in L'Absinthe has been identified as Paris's Café de la Nouvelle Athènes. It was a "hotbed of intellectual bohemians" where Impressionist painters like Degas, Camille Pissarro, and Georges Seurat were known to roam.
3. L'ABSINTHE WAS SEEN AS ANTI-ABSINTHE PROPAGANDA.
In the late 19th century, absinthe was growing in popularity. But public sentiment shifted against the high-proof liquor, spurring its ban in France as well as in the United States, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, and Austria-Hungary by 1915. Because Degas's painting depicted a sullen woman with the identifiable beverage before her, anti-absinthe advocates embraced L'Absinthe as an illustration of the isolation and misery the spirit could bring.
4. L'ABSTINTHE'S LADY WAS A FAMOUS IMPRESSIONIST MUSE.
French ingénue Ellen Andrée worked in Naturalist theater when she wasn't posing for the likes of Degas, Édouard Manet, and Pierre-Auguste Renoir. Besides L'Absinthe, Andrée can be spotted in Renoir's Luncheon of the Boating Party, Manet's The Plum, and Henri Gervex's Rolla.

Turing Pharmaceuticals CEO Martin Shkreli accused Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) of taking cheap shots against him while also challenging the Democratic presidential candidate to a debate, Attn reported.
<snip>
The former hedge fund managers attack came after Sanders and Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) contacted him on Sept. 21 asking for financial information about Turing Pharmaceuticals.
The two lawmakers later said in a statement that, after promising to lower the price of the drug in response to the public backlash, Shkreli hired an army of new Washington lobbyists and lawyers to stem the massive fallout from his actions and to stymie congressional oversight.
Shkreli fired back saying Sanders should be ashamed for attacking the industry, and later rejecting allegations that he raised the price of Daraprim out of greed.
I dont even own a car, he wrote. I dont even have a drivers license. Our company is not profitable. My salary is $0. I give millions to charity.

Are you a feminist?
These days, that question's being posed more often than ever. Actors and politicians are regularly asked to give their stances on feminism which makes a certain amount of sense, since gender issues are at the forefront of American politics and entertainment.
But what you may not realize is that feminism isn't only a hot topic in Western world. Take India, for example, where subjects like rape and misogyny are finally being addressed publicly after centuries of silence. There, feminism is a relatively new concept and a word regarded warily for its associations with the West. But it's finally beginning to have its moment.
Proof: In Y Films' new Indian web series Man's World, the main character, Kiran, is a man who's tired of hearing women talk about feminism. He thinks that women actually have it easy, and that they wont like true equality because they'll no longer be favored. His frustration eventually brings about a Freaky Friday-esque scenario: Kiran wakes up in a world run by women, where men face daily injustices and struggle collectively to break free. Also, now they're the ones who have periods.

Urban Outfitters parent company asks employees to work for free
Source: Philly.com
If you work at Urban Outfitters, your bosses want you to work for free. To keep up with the increased seasonal demand, the parent company of Urban Outfitters, URBN, which also owns Free People and Anthropologie, sent an employee-only email calling for volunteers.
URBN, which is headquartered in Philadelphia, asked its salaried employees to engage in a team-building activity, picking, packing and preparing packages for shipment.
Part of the email reads:

Part of the email reads:
URBN is seeking weekend volunteers to help out at our fulfillment center in Gap, PA. October will be the busiest month yet for the center, and we need additional helping hands to ensure the timely shipment of orders. As a volunteer, you will work side by side with your GFC colleagues to help pick, pack and ship orders for our wholesale and direct customers.
