Sometimes it's difficult to find the things that we, as human beings, have in common.

We live in times when the "Us vs Them" narrative has become mainstream. We get caught up in minutiae and risk losing sight of what binds us, rather than divides us.

This Danish television station ad, entitled "All that we share," challenges this narrative with a simple but effective formula.

In the video, groups of Danes get onto a stage, stepping into delineated areas on the floor that define them by opposition — "The high earners" vs. "Those just getting by;" lifelong Danes vs. immigrants; "Those who trust" vs. "Those we try to avoid."

At some point, something happens that will push these people to step outside their defining boxes. And it's so heartwarming we want to cry.

The 27-year-old suspect, who has espoused support for Le Pen and U.S. President Donald Trump on his Facebook page, was known to those who monitor extremist groups in Quebec, said François Deschamps, an official with a refugee advocacy group.

Trump called Trudeau to express condolences to the Canadian people and to offer any assistance that might be needed.

The White House pointed to the attack as an example of why Trump's policies are needed. "We condemn this attack in the strongest possible terms. It's a terrible reminder of why we must remain vigilant and why the president is taking steps to be pro-active, rather than reactive when it comes to our nation's safety and security," White House spokesman Sean Spicer said.

"The evening is sure to bring plenty of surprises, music, food, and laughter—and if you're not careful you just might learn something. Specifically, you’ll learn how screwed we'd be without a free press."

All proceeds for "Not the White House Correspondents' Dinner" will go to the Committee to Protect Journalists, with celeb attendance at the event to be announced at a later date.

Hundreds of people protested against the Trump administration's travel ban on seven Muslim-majority countries outside the U.S. Consulate General in Toronto on Monday.

"Freedom for refugees, justice for immigrants," members of the crowd chanted during a march to city hall.

Speakers urged the crowd to write letters to U.S. President Donald Trump, demanding the repeal of Friday's executive order barring citizens from Yemen, Syria, Sudan, Somalia, Iraq, Libya and Iran from entering the U.S.

They also said the U.S. should send its refugees to Canada and that protesters should consider privately sponsoring refugees.

Sure, going to the Women's March on Washington following Donald Trump's inauguration might have been a historic moment, but hosting a march in your backyard featuring adorable dolls might be just as cool.

Four-year old Rose's delightful protest went viral last week after her parent's posted photographs to Facebook of her dolls ready and geared up for resistance.

“I came up with the idea and Wendy and I made up the slogans and then Rose helped tape the signs and made two of her own," Rose's father, Mark Redfern explained to BuzzFeed. "As she made the first one, she scribbled lines and talked as she did about loving people.”

Just a few days after news of a best picture nomination for Hidden Figures, its star Taraji P. Henson enchanted her Instagram followers with a photo of sweet cosplay inspired by the film.

The photo shows three young girls dressed as the film's leading women, Katherine Johnson (played by Henson), Mary Jackson (played by Janelle Monáe) and Dorothy Vaughan (played by Octavia Spencer).

She captioned the photo: "I do what I do #SoTheBabiesCanDream."

A vet from Glasgow says she is "upset" and "afraid" after being prevented from flying to the US under President Donald Trump's executive order barring people from several Muslim countries.

Hamaseh Tayari, who holds an Iranian passport, had been due to fly home from a holiday in Costa Rica via New York.

But she has been told she cannot fly to the USA because of the order.

The American president said the measures would "keep radical Islamic terrorists out of the US".

The 90-day travel ban affects nationals from Syria, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen.

Speaking to BBC Scotland from San Jose airport in Costa Rica, Dr Tayari, who works at the University of Glasgow, said: "We arrived at the airport this morning at five o'clock for the check-in to fly to New York, and then from New York to Glasgow.

"The people at the check-in told me that I was not allowed to take the plane because of the new rules.
