Official: Michigan Boy Discussed Killing Students in Video

Authorities say a 15-year-old boy charged in a shooting at a Michigan high school recorded video night before the violence in which he discussed killing students.

The revelation was made by Oakland County Sheriff's Lt. Tim Willis during a court hearing for Ethan Crumbley.
Crumbley is accused of killing four students and injuring seven others Tuesday at Oxford High School. He's charged as an adult with murder, attempted murder and terrorism causing death. Willis made the comments shortly before Crumbley was to be arraigned.

Authorities have not revealed a possible motive for the violence.

School met with suspect, parents over concerning behavior the morning of Oxford shooting, police say

(WXYZ) — Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said Oxford High School had contact with the suspect in a shooting, the day of the shooting.

Speaking at a press conference, Bouchard said that the schools did have contact with the suspect, identified as 15-year-old Ethan Crumbley, both the day before and the day of the shooting.

According to Bouchard, there was also a face-to-face meeting with the suspect's parents the morning of the shooting. He said the suspect was at the school, brought into a meeting, and then the shooting happened.

The meeting was over behavior in the classroom that was concerning, he said.

In the press conference, Bouchard said that there is no motive in the shooting yet, and there is no evidence that he was bullied.

Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh says he will gift his bonus to staffers who took pay cuts

(CNN)Michigan Wolverines head football coach Jim Harbaugh will donate the bonus money he'll earn this season to employees of the athletic department who were impacted by Covid-19-related pay cuts, Harbaugh said.

Harbaugh secured a $500,000 bonus Saturday when the Wolverines defeated rival Ohio State Buckeyes to secure the Big Ten East Division crown.

He and his wife, Sarah, "were talking about it last night, and we decided any bonus money that I am to receive through this season will be redirected to reimburse U of M athletic department employees who have stayed while taking a voluntary or mandatory pay reduction during the last 18 months during the pandemic," Harbaugh said Monday in his weekly interview on the "Inside Michigan Football" radio show.

There are so many people his wife and children have gotten close to, "whether it's folks that work here in football or at the ticket department or baseball coaches, (swimming and diving coach) Mike Bottom," Harbaugh said.

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) plays a horrific death threat she received following Rep. Lauren Boebert’s (R-CO) recent Islamophobic attacks on her.

Warning: It's incredibly graphic.

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) calls out Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) for demanding she retake her oath of office on a Bible:

“That says a lot about somebody who says she believes in the Constitution, because she obviously hasn’t read it.”

CNN suspends Chris Cuomo for helping brother in scandal

NEW YORK – CNN said Tuesday it was suspending anchor Chris Cuomo indefinitely after details emerged about how he helped his brother, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, as he faced charges of sexual harassment.

The network said that documents released by New York's attorney general Monday indicated a greater level in his brother's efforts than the network previously knew.

“As a result, we have suspended Chris indefinitely, pending further evaluation,” the network said.

The CNN anchor had pressed sources for information on his brother's accusers and reported back to the governor's staff, and was active helping to craft their response to the charges, according to emails and a transcript of his testimony before investigators working for state Attorney General Letitia James.

In bid to block Biden's $1.7T bill, conservatives praise Democrat Manchin at home

Source: NBC

WASHINGTON — A conservative group focused on combating President Joe Biden's economic agenda is launching a nearly $800,000 ad campaign pushing Sen. Joe Manchin's, D-W.Va., to oppose to the $1.7 trillion social safety net and climate legislation.

Democrats in Congress are aiming to send Biden the bill by year end, but that will mean first getting all 50 Democratic senators, including Manchin, on board. Over the coming weeks, Democrats in the Senate are expected to wage intense negotiations to try to strike a balance that keeps the party's most liberal and moderates behind the bill.

Republicans lack leverage to block the bill on their own, but pushing the Democrats who are most doubtful — primarily Manchin and centerist Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, D-Ariz. — could be their best hope to gum up Biden's big agenda piece.

The Coalition to Protect American Workers, a group led by Marc Short, former Vice President Mike Pence's former chief of staff, is running the ads targeting Manchin in West Virginia and will begin airing this week.
