Trump's weakness and strength

Is that he is NOT a politician. The problem comes in when a bunch of wonks, who are very interested in defending the idea that their snake oil still is medicine, try to throw all their tricks at him, ala DWS, throw the stuff that is NOT made to deal with folks like him. You cannot embarrass a reality show TV star out of their career! Fortunately, Hillary is getting less formal and more folksy, and she has one of the best, slickest snake oil sellers in Bill to test things with. Hell, why can't bill be her debate prep, he knows Trump well, and could imitate him.

about demonizing the blue collar folks

Some people think that the unsuccessful among us are that way because they are either lazy or stupid. This sort of thinking used to be mostly confined to the right wing, and , it is still a major part of right wing thought. However, as people who identify themselves as "liberals" start to move into gentrified neighborhoods, or benefit from outsourcing, they seem to agree, and scream even louder at those they blame. If right wing stupid has ignorance, left wing elites have arrogance. Just take a look at the mayhem that happens to the Afro-American board whenever an AA has any other opinion but "yes, please save us o liberals" or the Unions folks when a bunch of "liberals" join the stone throwing and name calling at the folks that lost jobs to China.

It is not a matter of Americans not being willing to work, or being too lazy to improve their lot. Let's be honest, with the lowest vacation, most overtime, most unreported overtime, least job security, and the sheer work it takes to even score unemployment benefits, the problem is NOT that Americans do not want to work. If Americans were lazy, no one would dare work in places which are just a step above old antebellum plantations. The problem is that our elites do NOT put half the risk and toil that their employees do, and because people are desperate and badly fed, they will accept anything that gives off hope, or it's cheap cousin, revenge. Think of Trump as fast food, it's not what you want to live off, not what you want to feed your kids, but on budgets that make vegetables a luxury, it is something that beats hunger.

If Clinton wants to beat Trump, and she could do so easily, she needs to step away from the Yuppies whose response to food deserts is "why don't they buy organic at whole foods?" and connect to the folks that have to use Hamburger Helper. She can do this, but she needs to continue on the path she started when she FINALLY got Debbie Wasserman Schultz out of the cockpit and started describing herself as a girl whose grandpa was poor.

Demonizing people you think do not want to work will only shovel the people who work for 50-60 hours a week right into Trump's furnace. If you think I am being hard on the left side, I say this: we are the ones that want to sell compassion, respect, reason, logic and genuine efforts to allow people to keep what they have and try to improve. It is high time we started to live up to what we say we believe, even if, especially if, if threatens our ego.

and to sum it up, I end with a bit of an another OP: Some people do not like certain versions, but most leftists know the Three penny opera. It is most famous for a song called "Mack the Knife", but this song states the point very well.

You gentlemen who think you have a mission
To purge us of the seven deadly sins(2)
Should first sort out the basic food position
Then start your preaching, that's where it begins

You lot, who preach restraint and watch your waist as well
Should learn, for once, the way the world is run
However much you twist, or whatever lies that you tell
Food is the first thing, morals follow on(3)

So first make sure that those who are now starving
get proper helpings, when we all start carving
What keeps mankind alive?

What keeps mankind alive? The fact that millions
are daily tortured, stifled, punished, silenced and oppressed
Mankind can keep alive thanks to its brilliance
in keeping its humanity repressed
And for once you must try not to shirk the facts
Mankind is kept alive
by bestial acts!

what keeps mankind alive

This is something to keep in mind this year, both for the self righteous GOP that thinks morality is a simple matter of working and not having sex, and for the self righteous who call themselves democrats who think they are special because they have that cushy job in the gentrified neighborhood. Bonus points if you know the original source of this:

let's not be the Hare to the Tortoise

It is very easy to be complacent, but as someone who lived through the 2000 election, I know that is the one thing we who oppose Trump cannot do. We have Rick Scott in Florida, willing to hand this state to Trump. We have an army of "lone gunmen" ready to apply "second amendment remedies" to liberals, who will be taking weapons into polling places and giving anyone with a hint of skin pigment that "I will git you" stare. We have Julian Assange who, apparently does not have the talent to find Trump's secrets, and the Jill Stein voters who will gladly vote for Trump (via voting third party) and gladly step in their minivans (bought with privilege) drive off to whole foods and have a congratulatory organic pizza mixed with homegrown herbal "medicine" that they know they can get away with (after all, the cops have plenty of young teenagers to lock up for mary jane, and they cannot afford lawyers.)

In short, until the hand is raised, do not let up. Furthermore, we know that the Oligarchy's paid army of whores (otherwise known as the House of representatives) will do everything and anything to make Hillary a "one term president", just like Mitch the Turtle tried to do to Obama. I do nto care how many times the GOP's obit is written, if the GOP did not wane after the disaster that was the Bush era, it will not now.

Has Comedy Central follwed a policy of "Last hired, First fired?" Re: the nightly show cancellation

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/08/16/business/media/comedy-central-cancels-larry-wilmores-late-night-show.html?_r=0

OK, I know there are some who will howl if you mention race and media. I myself found Larry Wilmore charming, funny and yes, talented. He gave me the fix I was missing from Jon Stewart, even though I do like Trevor Noah too.

However, why is it that the first shoe to get the ax was this show? If you were to Ax Noah, it would indeed say a lot about race (namely that many white people would prefer to be mocked for their bigotry by a white guy) but to see Wilmore get the ax is appalling. Her is a guy that was simply witty and funny, did not have to use shock value or even scream a lot, and yet, to keep it 100, still was able to fly right into thorny subjects with a rare grace and ease.

The fact that the Nightly and Daily shows are getting Pilloried frankly sets off my radar. Yes, it would have been nice if Samantha Bee took their offer to take over the show, however, neither Noah nor Wilmore got a fair shot. And let me say this right now, I do not care if it is someone like Lweis Black, Denis Leary, or any of the Comedians I truly love, if all of a sudden another white guy gets a new show, I will call shenanigans. For that matter, yes I know women are not represented on television, but could it hurt to consider some of the very funny women PoC? Hell, Whoopi Goldberg has to be getting sick of the View, or an Aisha Tyler could do this along with Archer. Or bring in Olivia Munn, former DS alumni.

Hell, part of me hopes they get so desperate they offer Dave Chapelle the slot.

To Trumps defenders saying "he wuz talkign about VOTING."

Now, I have seen every right wing pundit walk in lockstep goosestep making sure they all have their rant about how Trump was not hinting at wanting Hillary shot. I would say this, before Gabby Giffords got shot, that might have been more forgivable.

https://www.rawstory.com/2016/08/trumps-threat-is-nothing-new-republicans-have-called-for-second-amendment-remedies-for-years/

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/gabby-giffords-trump-second-amendment-violence

The fact is that there has been a faction of the GOP, the same faction that supported the rise of Donald Trump, that has always been willing to use their second amendment "rights" to intimidate and kill. They want us to forget how they were very vocal about how JFK and RFK and MLK really deserved to get shot, all the while defending the KKK whose main purpose was the right of conservative whites to use "second amendment" remedies on black people and others. Of course, they tread carefully, because they will reveal that has much as they spin yarn about how the second amendment is about personal protection (from whatever army of people is out to take their stuff) the second amendment is also about the "right" of vigilantes and terrorist to threaten to shoot government officials they do not like. The right wing politicians do not want to admit that this army of "lone gunmen" is a major arm of their power. In theory , such a mob could be used by the left, but guns in America have always been a part of the fear that is the basis of right wing culture, that the only rights that matter are your rights to blast whoever threatens your property, and that the definition of "your" property is your ability to shoot whoever the elites want you to keep shooting at (before their lawyers pick you corpse cleaner than a soup bone.)

The GOP has shown themselves to have less honor

than a bunch of crack whores. At least if a pimp beats too many people up, his "ladies" can use a second amendment remedy like a "Saturday night special" and deal with him, but the very people Trump is using like an ashtray will not only be the first to kiss his ring, they will be the ones to implement his policies and try to steer him even harder to the right.

and for those that do nto get that reference, here is some rabid anti gun propaganda by a bunch of long haired types that have NO appreciation for rural values or the stars and bars (Heavy sarcasm)

Best gun control anthem there is.

I propose the following Trump meme: Bad Bromance

This guys has been possibly the most Pro Putin president since , well, no one. So I have a name for him, based on an old movie. Yes, some will say Krugman started this, but we need to make it stick.

Donald Trump
The SIBERIAN CANDIDATE!

we need to make that stick.

I even have in mind a commercial for that. We would need Lady Gaga to wear a really bad Orange wig, wear a really bad suit, and do a video based on her earlier hit, "bad Romance."

"ru-uh-Russ-I-ya
I owe Russ-i-ya!
Ru-uh-Russ-i-ya
a bad bromance!

I owe the Russians
my funds for for TV
I'll give them Kiev
and Berlin for free
I want his love..
Russ-i-ya
I want his love

I'll destroy Nato
as part of my fee
it's my plan to try
and beat Hill-ar-ree
I want his love
Russ-i-ya
I want his love

You know that he owns me
and that he will use me
you know I want him bad

I want the drama
let him take more land
he and I got a bad bromance
we can go take isis in the sand
he and I got a bad bromance

whoaaaaaoooohhh (and so on)

Note, to any LGBT who think I am tryign to offend them, the irony is that two of the BIGGEST HOMOPHOBIC ASSHOLES would be parodied in this song should dissuade that. I bet if either Gaga or her mentor, Madonna reads this they will at the very least laugh.

for all the "Trump will quit" wishers

You realize that would put Mike Pence in the front bracket? Look that man up, he is DEADLY, actually to Trump's firm RIGHT.
