here is a store that many people shop at, and that does very well, but because the hedge fund sharks bled it dry with debt and "management fees" it will go down. The hedge fund runners profit from bleeding companies dry and then running like thieves, so why should be be surprised when the economy falls?

Granted, I really do not look forward to seeing a world where China dominates either. Whereas a Deng Xiaoping would be pragmatic, Xi Jinpin is eager to revive Mao's image and live as a new Mao, which is like us electing George Washington and giving him slaves as a present. In other words, you never want to go back into history and revive old ghosts in the hopes of bringing back past that never was. As far as Putin, well, anyone who can polish Stalin with one hand, and Alexander Dugin with the other is inherently a threat.

As far as the EU, sorry to say, they shot themselves, and not just with brexit, but by the fact that what passes for the left there are Macron and Merkel, two people that claim to be the center, but who made their bones using "austerity" to dismantle the very economies that made the Euro strong, to say nothing of the fact that full blown fascists are withing striking distance, the sort that would GLADLY pick up where Hitler left off, and then run to distances that would make the SS blush. Go ahead and read about le Pen, or some of the German right wing parties, it will be sobering.

None of this will help us, we may have to become what we were at our best: a nation that could build it;s garden behind the oceans, focusing on ourselves. However, I cannot even have faith in it, as the confederates have planted seeds which may break the nation. Let us not forget dreams of places like Cascadia, which is supported both by self described leftist who dream of separating themselves from Dixie, but also, sadly, by the ultra white right there who knows that if they separate, it will be very very easy to establish their dominance, just ask any person of color living in places like Seattle or Portland how many bigots they have to deal with, from the "but why you call me racist" types to full blown Militia.
