About the new Roseanne show

I know this has been discussed a lot, but things that are discussed that much often strike a nerve. First off, let me say that unlike many, I will admit to being a fan of her first show. Whether it was drugs, LGBT, sexual harassment at work, or any number of issues that needed to be discussed, the Roseanne show was able to confront them. It's easy to forget that the idea of any GAY character on any show was forbidden, period, much less to have several, much less to have an actual LGBT marriage. More than just social issues, Roseanne was one of the first people to confront the fact that workplaces were horrible, and that even if you had saved enough to make a business, the odds were still stacked against you, because the corporations would make your little shop (like dan's bike shop) a joke. It also confronted the fact that for 20 somethings, life sucked because there were not even crappy jobs to be had. This show filled a void, a void I had hoped someone like Roseanne would fill again.

THAT.........BEING........SAID

I am fully aware that Roseanne is now a full blown Trump follower. As much as people will say "that show has Liberals on it!" or "She does not have all the say!", or any number of excuses why we should give this a try, the fact is, it is HER show. She will put her spin on it, and even if people do not get the reference, rest assured, all she needs to do is let the folks at breitbart and Fox make the meaning clear. What is important to note is that now, we have an entire section of media whose entire job is to make sure that people already think what the sponsors want them to think before there is even a chance TO think. To paraphrase CNN, they will make sure that even if you buy an apple, you will taste a banana.

Let us say that Roseanne really was some sort of covert agent hoping to set herself up as the person people were "supposed to laugh at." That would be against what she claimed about herself, but hey, that could be showbiz. Let's say she is writing this show with her sister being right about 70 percent of the time, the modern version of "meathead." Folks, common sense ai'nt that common. Even if she does a sort of epic show that Helen Keller could see that Trump is a bad guy, the media machine will twist it, and since Roseanne is angry at the rest of the media, she will simply let Trump do the work, and watch while the cash rolls in. We cannot count on limits or common sense, because frankly there is no barrier that will not be pushed by the GOP. This is the age when we are expected to be friends with the Russians because they hate Muslims too, and where kids that got shot to death are secret FBI stooges.

Add to this the fact that Roseanne is not going to shy from attention. She will eat up every bit of right wing slop, especially when the likes of Milo (Hey, I am a GOP gay person too) Yannopolis. The sad fact is, as much as many of the Blue collar class did get screwed, they are and were always ready to screw over themselves and anyone else. It is why Coal Miners want to defend the same coal execs that kill them off with black lung or mine collapses. Of course, Roseanne will also target the fact that many self described "liberals" do have that aristocrat, hypocrite vibe. Note I said self described, as we know that the working class also includes those of us that are never ever talked about, even by Roseanne.

So to Sum, no, I do not want to se the show, even though I loved it in the 90's. Seeing Roseanne make this show would be like me taking the urn with my Mother's ashes, seating it at my table, giving it a cup of coffee and saying "Hi Mom, how was your day?" The difference would be that somewhere in the heavens, my Mom would be saying "what the F*** are you doing?", where Roseanne actually would encourage people to visit her glided corpse, wearing a made in china "maga" hat.
