I know that Mitch is Mitch, and i also know that many billionaire centrists love broken government because they are scared aoc will make them pay taxes for once. What can be done t at least put pressure so that mitch and the boys realize thi is not a game?

Why Biden shouldn't extend an olive branch to Republicans

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/nov/26/why-biden-shouldnt-extend-an-olive-branch-to-republicans

Look, we know that a certain mantra is being practiced in the rehearsal hall's of the party. It has various courses, various variations, but the call will be to get things back to "normal", to "reach across the aisle".It is the same mantra that got played in 1992, it is the same mantra that got played in 2008, and any other time when the Democrats beat the GOP. Then, as now, the party one because a lot of minorities got out to vote: Blacks, browns, and white women who had to endure the attacks of everything from police brutality media crucifixion.

Yet, there is already here a command being issued from on high "thou shalt not risk the anger of the white voter!" Never mind that many of that coveted block can and will backstab if the GOP strums the right heartstrings. Even though most people remember that they had more money when Democrats were in office, the majority here is the notes the GOP plays and are hypnotized by siren songs, voting for the very people who frankly oppress them.

Now let me be clear, I am not saying that we put on Che berets and act out some of the fantasies that have no basis in reality. Yes Mitch is going to try everything he can to obstruct anything he can, until the day his turtle shell is finally carried out of capital. Is that the left of the party has to at least have a chance on stage, and that yes we do have to make Mitch fight for every inch of ground, too much of our previous negotiations have been conceding 60 to 70% of what the opponent wants before we even get to the table, which means that they know they can go ahead and get at least 70 to 80% of what they want. Then the powers that be have a few measly slices and then say "well that's really all we could get, but remember to send in your party donations!"

No, this time around we have to be willing to fight! Yes, yes we have no illusions about that that we are running uphill, and that many people on the so-called "center" are going to be doing their best sniper our backs as we run uphill. Even in this very newsgroup, here the hatred that some people have for aoc and her fellow "squad", even though they did mobilize the youth, and the women in order to get that crucial bit of ground this election.

The real unity that can help us is that even when the right side of the Democrats disagree with the left side of the Democrats, we realize that we do have each other's back, and that we will need to play both good cop and bad cop with the GOP. Good cop and bad cop only works when the subject realizes that there is a realistic chance that Bad COp can show up; the GOP wants to kill Obama care, well then we can push the Medicare for all, and when people seem to like Medicare for all, then the GOP can finally offer some things to us that are not slices that are called "half a loaf." Yes we need to work together, but the place from which we do work together has to be a place that is not interested in placating the GOP. We are not going to walk out and extend an olive branch knowing that the GOP has a machine gun nest in the right where we would step, we have to make them a lean left of their comfort zone. We won the election, we cannot step right word into their comfort zone, because it is their element. They are very successfully played the game where they have turned the Blacks, browns, and yes white women and said "we know that we can make the Democrats abandoned, so why not come over to the winning side?"

Yes we work together, but we do it in a way that demands that even the GOP give us something real, or they pay for it in the press. The most successful lawyers will tell you that most lawsuits are not done and actually went, but to make the client broke. We need to start making the GOP get exhuasted, get them to the point where they keep fighting the same old fight, they are either going to get knocked down or at least be vulnerable to those that want to rip them up. We need to take advantage of the fact that most of this country does not trust the GOP, bipartisan initiatives are giving air to them while they are choking, so let's not give them any more oxygen.

Experts Analyze 2020 Increase in White Women Who Voted For Trump MSNBC

Sorry to be mean, but the stats do not lie. Though frankly, I have no idea WHY. Watch this, before you dismiss it.

Joe Biden's coalition is whiter, wealthier - and will not stick around

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/nov/11/joe-biden-voters-republicans-trump

Read the article, and it says a truth, a lot of the people who are enevr trump, be it the suburban soccer moms or mitt romneys, still want to pursue an agenda where they get the meat and the rest get the gravy. This is why Biden needs to work with the non suburbans. The black and browns have stood by him, turning that blue wall blue once again, whereas the suburban "i am not a racist but" types are the backstabbers who handed trump the election, probably after having a latte at starbucks with their "lIbreal" friends and hiding what they did.

The gender gap was expected to be historic. Instead, women voted much as they always have.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2020/11/06/election-2020-gender-gap-women/

"Meanwhile, more than half of White women voted for Trump, preliminary exit polls suggest."

GOOD LORD IF TRUE WHY?

Let's not fall for the old divide and conquer trick

It has not been a week, already see post that speak of AOC as being some child, and we see post that already use Biden of wanting to throw people under the bus. Like all lies there is a base in truth, that is not the narrative that we want, because it is one written by Republicans to ensure that we spend four years bickering, fighting and looking like a bunch of idiots. Now, let's be honest, the compromises we will make will ensure that we get half a loaf as opposed to the whole. Let's also be honest, a lot of progressives know that they had to get thrown under the bus last time, and if we make them unwelcome, they might very well not support us with the energy that we need. So to those love AOC and those whohate AOC I say was both, settle down and learn to work together.

It is no accident that the comment that started a lot of big green already was when AOC responded to John case. We as Democrats to watch out for these people were "never trumpeters" because they want the same goals of the Republicans had, they were just a lot less honest about. I don't care how nice Cusick seems, or how nice Ron the scenes, they want abortion band, they want gay marriage band, and they want to go ahead and let Wall Street run random shod just as much as Trump did. In a way, one silver lining of the Trump years is that the Republicans showed us who they are, yes we do need to realize that even that Democrat who is diametrically on the opposite end of you, be a far left or far right of the Democratic spectrum, still a Democrat, and deserves much more of your support and attention then anyone else.

Let's also not forget one thing, the media is not our friend. I don't care if MSNBC decides to order a double show Rachel Maddow, there are also people who pay known instigators like morning Joe and Chuck Todd, who will no doubt be among the first to plant knives in Joe's back. The same goes for the so-called fringe media, because to be frank, a lot of people close to the Jill Stein's of the world can talk about revolution in radical change because they had never had put in the work to achieve it. Anyone can talk about fancy cuisine but still be clumsy as hell in the kitchen.

So for solutions, I say that Joe and Kemal and make sure that many people get their years and many people get their seats at the table, maybe someone from the far center, maybe someone close to AOC, the bottom line is all parts of the Democratic spectrum need to know that they will have a voice. Yes it will be messy, yes will be frustrating, and yes it will be worth it.

To quote Winston Churchill: democracy is a terrible way to run a country, it's a six times better than anything else.

Black Women Led Us Through The Most Consequential Political Contest Of Our Lifetimes. It's High Time

https://talkingpointsmemo.com/cafe/black-women-led-through-most-consequential-contest-lifetimes-high-time-thank-them?fbclid=IwAR36_qBxnr4fWC_z2f5KiFc3Kshes-6nIFzk85ah94zviE_awkQcn9JTmC0

I will go further. I know that soon the tradational media are going to say "we have to keep center, we won because we did not scare the whiten working class." I got news..the blue wall states that handed this country to trump in 2016 were won back by Black people, especially black women. While we do need tor revive the heartland, let's have a lot less of this willingness to throw black and brown under the bus all in the name of chasing those white voters who feel offended.

Let this be the death of the Reagan Democrat

Let this be the age where minorities are respected and cared for, because believe it or not, if we are, we can and will make this nation very glad they did. Our backs carry the weight, our hands get things done.
