J. Geils Band Live, Serves You Right To Suffer. Time 9:56 with a short wait to the intro. Enjoy!

I found this gem among my bar/party band memories and it's perfect to apply to tRUMP.

From The CBC/Canada: 'Alberta Premium Cask Strength' produced by Alberta Distillers,

named 'World Whisky of The Year'.

Yes, yet another worthy distraction from all things tRUMP!

from article:

A smooth, Canadian whisky made in Calgary has been named best in the world by the prestigious Jim Murray's Whisky Bible.

'Alberta Premium Cask Strength' produced by Calgary-based Alberta Distillers, was named 'World Whisky of the Year,' by Murray in his Whisky Bible 2021.

George Teichroeb, general manager of Alberta Distillers, told CBC's The Homestretch that the news is still sinking in.

"It's incredible, we're still feeling the effects of the news," Teichroeb said. "And I don't know if it's fully sinking yet. We knew and we released it that we would be shaking things up maybe a little bit in the Canadian whisky market, but to be called World Whisky of the Year -- wow."

A song from my childhood: Jim Dandy... LaVern Baker version, a #1 hit in 1956.

Ahh, memories are a wonderful thing! I swear that I heard a male group doing this back in the '50s
but I couldn't find it. LaVern'll do! I'm obliged to made a metaphorical comparison to
Joe "Dandy" Biden, a troubleshooter for 2020.

lyrics:

Jim Dandy to the rescue!
Jim Dandy to the rescue!
Jim Dandy to the rescue!
Go, Jim Dandy! Go, Jim Dandy!

Jim Dandy on a mountain top.
Thirty thousand feet to drop.
Spied a lady on a runaway horse
Uh huh, that's right, of course.
Jim Dandy to the rescue!
Go, Jim Dandy! Go, Jim Dandy!

Jim Dandy met a girl named Sue.
She was feeling kind of blue.
Jim Dandy he's the kind of guy
Never liked to see a little girl cry.
Jim Dandy to the rescue!
Go, Jim Dandy! Go, Jim Dandy!

Jim Dandy to the rescue!
Jim Dandy to the rescue!
Jim Dandy to the rescue!
Go, Jim Dandy! Go, Jim Dandy!

Jim Dandy in a submarine
Got a message from a mermaid queen.
She was hanging from a fishing line.
Jim Dandy didn't waste no time!
Jim Dandy to the rescue!
Go, Jim Dandy! Go, Jim Dandy!

Jim Dandy wanted to go to Maine.
Got a ticket on a DC plane.
Mr. Dandy didn't need no chute!
He was hip and ready to boot!
Jim Dandy to the rescue!
Go, Jim Dandy! Go, Jim Dandy!

Go, go go Jim Dandy
Go, go go Jim Dandy
Go, go go Jim Dandy
So long Jim!
Jim Dandy's gone

I've decided that my son and I will vote in person for the presidential vote here in 2020. We

did the absentee voter thing this last June here and that worked well since we can track our ballots
and I made sure that they got into the County Clerk's hands.

Now with the efficiency of the USPS in question, I recalled that in every election here prior to this
last June we always voted in person, usually during the early voting period. The last election
where we voted early and in person my son and I were the only voters in the very large space
provided by the Democratic Party here. The poll workers easily outnumbered us so if that holds
true then we can vote with minimum risk of covid and assurance that our votes will definitely count.

That's what we've decided. We all have to make the best decisions we can to make our votes count!

I'm now running my new WIN 10 HP Slim puter and what an improvement it is! Comments below:

I finally figured out that my old WIN 7 unit was on its last legs due to the following reasons:

1. My Malwarebytes scans that initially took 15 minutes had begin to take from 30 to 45 minutes.
(A full scan takes around 2 minutes on my son's unit and it's the same with my new one.)

2. I was getting many "Internet disconnected" popups from my Netgear Genie. I'd always check
my sons machine and he kept on working just fine. Since we run through the same router the
only conclusion I could make was that it was time to upgrade my puter. So I have!

Two things that haven't changed with this upgrade are the video problems with viewing the
CBC/Canada news website...not my problem. And Firefox still has to be re-booted at least once
a day. Again, not my problem but that's good to know.

I'll keep my old WIN 7 unit and retire my XP machine (that still works). At least until I can run the
pics on my old 7 unit off on disk but then I've got nothing but time.

A happy puter makes for a happy puter geek!

We're having weather here in Albuquerque. I woke up around 6 am to cold rain outside and a chill in

our apartment. High temp today is forecast to be 48 degrees F. Seems that summer has ended...

Ominous sunset here in Albuquerque tonight. When I looked out my west-facing window I

saw that it was totally overcast/hazy and the sun shone through and looked totally red... Tomorrow is
the start of our dramatic temperature drop...

Here's my latest report concerning my ongoing search for normal navigational operation

of the "page back" function when viewing the DU Latest Threads page.

It's been awhile but things are getting better. My previous best result was finding that if I posted
a reply to any op in Latest Threads then I achieved normal page back function for that page.
(To recap, I never had a problem navigating the My Posts or DU Lounge pages.)

Now after several Firefox updates I find that if I reboot Firefox just before beginning reading
a Latest Threads page then normal back function is assured. Very soon I'm sure that I can stop
reporting my findings, mount my flying pony and fly away to a happier reality...

Computers: Don't gripe, the amazing thing is that they work at all!
