The loud sound you have heard coming from the Southeast

is emanating from SC. Every time Nikki Haley appears anywhere in the media a huge Bronx Cheer goes up from 98% of the state.

If she had a Pinnochio gene, her nose would have reached Polaris by now.

So, My Cat Took Down a Six-Foot Maintenance Man

(not my story. My cats love the maintenance people)
In one corner, we have the maintenance man, standing 6-feet-tall and weighing in at 200 pounds. In the opposite corner, we have the world-reigning catnapping champion, Furball, standing 10 inches high at the shoulder and weighing a formidable 12 pounds. Who will reign supreme?
<snip>
Round 1
It all began rather innocuously. I placed a call to the building management and asked them to fix a small leak in the bathroom. Since I would be at work during the day, I gave the maintenance men permission to enter my apartment while I was out.
<snip>
That’s when I noticed the ominous red glow of the light on the answering machine. Hesitantly, I pressed play. “We sent maintenance to your apartment, but they were unable to complete the work because your cat attacked them. Please call us back.” The words hung in the air like smog over L.A.
<snip>

Round 2

<snip>
Round 3
What happened next was completely unexpected and it took all of my strength to suppress the laughter welling up inside me. The 6-foot-tall, 200-pound maintenance man pressed himself closely to the wall as he walked around Furball, giving the cat as wide a berth as possible. The scene was ridiculous. It looked like a cartoon elephant standing on a stepstool to avoid a mouse.

Shot fired in grocery store dispute about too many items

Forth-six-year-old Annette Clincy of Jackson is in the Hinds County Jail after a grocery store dispute spilled into the parking lot. Police say she got a gun and fired at the woman she was having a disagreement with.

It happened Sunday in the parking lot of the Grocery Depot. Chief Don Byington says two women got into an argument over the number of items in a shopping cart going through a line where the number of items was limited.

He said the management of the store ordered both women to leave the store.

"We had an incident yesterday where two ladies were in the line, at the corner market which is located on Northside Drive" said Chief Byington. (They) Had some kind of verbal altercation, escalated. Management asked both individuals to leave the store. One of the individuals approached her vehicle, she retrieved a .25 caliber pistol, and shot in the direction of the victim as she was leaving the store. "

Fortunately, nobody was hit by the gunfire and nobody was hurt. Police arrived quickly and charged 46 year old Annette Clincy of Jackson with aggravated assault with a firearm, and shooting a firearm at a motor vehicle. She is being held on a $175,000 bond.
