5.0 out of 5 stars Marathon shoe for marathon filibustering
The next time you have to spend 13 hours on your feet without food, water or bathroom breaks, this is the shoe for you. Guaranteed to outrun patriarchy on race day.

1.0 out of 5 stars Men, do not try these on!
I tried on a pair at the local mall and suddenly Texas Republicans started telling me what to do with my genitals. They started explaining reproduction to me like I was a seventh grader. Unfortunately, being male, I had no way to shut the whole thing down. I'm so confused...

Okaaaaay. Phyllis Schlafly is certainly helping with Republican Outreach:

Here’s an example of why: right-wing Republican hero Phyllis Schlafly said last week that Latinos have too many children out of wedlock, and don’t understand the Bill of Rights or the concept of small government. She apparently said it in expressing her opinion that the Republican Party shouldn’t reach out to Latino voters at all.

Schlafly, the founder of Eagle Forum, is an undisputed leader in the National Republican Party. According to her bio, she’s played a major role in every Republican National Convention since 1952, and was elected as a delegate to eight of them, most recently in 2012. She ran for Congress as a Republican twice.

How important is she to Republicans? Glad you asked. The Republican-led Texas State Board of Education recently required that school children learn about her in future history textbooks. Imagine the thrill of Texas school children learning all about how stupid Schlafly thinks Latinos are.
<snip>
So, just to review, following the 2012 election, the Republicans paid big-time lip service to doing a better job of reaching out to minorities. One of the most important conservative leaders in the Republican Party – one so important that Republicans in Texas insisted she be featured in future history books – is bigoted against Latinos, and doesn’t mind explaining why.

That, my friends, is how Republican minority outreach efforts are going. Any questions?

The Republicans have alligator arms.

More anti-abortion wisdom from Texas: Only 'accurate' intercourse causes pregnancy

Texas is becoming something of a failed state, I fear.

The brilliance this time comes from state Sen. Bob Deuell (R-So SMRT), whose legislative website says he is “a board-certified family physician.” According to the Facebook post by his colleague Rep. Dukes, Sen. Deuell (who is now one of the R’s in the Texas Senate trying to interrupt Sen. Davis’s filibuster) had this insight during the debate:

Another ah ha moment in the senate during SB5, Sen. Duel [sic] said pregnancy only occurs after “accurate intercourse”.
But of course, any other is I assume inaccurate. Hmmmm!
That is a phrase I have never heard before. I have heard of a great deal of different kinds of intercourse, but the phrase accurate intercourse is a new one. It brings up images of missile defense systems, or a target range, or the world's most metaphorical dartboard. Pregnancy only occurs … after accurate intercourse. Not inaccurate. No, you need some precision on this one.

Stroke Victim Deported While Unconscious After Hospital Discovers He's Undocumented

Wladyslaw Haniszewski was at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Jersey when he suffered a stroke that left him comatose. However, when hospital staff learned he was an undocumented immigrant from Poland, the stroke victim was deported to his native country -- while unconscious.

According to The New York Daily News, Polish officials were furious when they received the 69-year-old Polish immigrant under the circumstances.

"Imagine being carted around like a sack of potatoes," Ewa Junczyk-Ziomecka, Poland's consul general in New York, told the outlet.

Haniszewski, though undocumented and uninsured, had resided in the New Jersey town of Perth Amboy for the better part of 30 years. He was previously admitted to the New Brunswick hospital by a friend for symptoms relating to his blood disease before he suffered a stroke this month.

When Haniszewski finally awoke, he found himself at a hospital in Boleslawiec. Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital had deported the stroke victim to Poland without first obtaining his consent, Polish newspaper Nowy Dziennik reports.

The arc of justice can take a while to bend.
However, it will bend as long as steady pressure is applied.(along with some yanks)

This is the type of filibuster that the asshats in Congress

should have to use.

As it is now, they practically whisper boo from their offices and everything is shut down.
Make them stand without any comforts and see how long their privileged asses last!
