Name one musician if you could only have the songs

that the artist played on to listen to for the rest of your life.

For example for Paul McCartney you would have all the Beatles albums along with the Wings and his solo albums and assorted duets.

For me it would be Eric Clapton

For What It Is Worth

Lyrics
**There's something happening here
What it is ain't exactly clear**

**There's a man with a gun over there
Telling me I got to beware**

I think it's time we stop, children, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
There's battle lines being drawn
Nobody's right if everybody's wrong

**Young people speaking their minds
Getting so much resistance from behind**

It's time we stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
What a field-day for the heat
A thousand people in the street
Singing songs and carrying signs
Mostly say, hooray for our side
It's s time we stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down

**Paranoia strikes deep
Into your life it will creep
It starts when you're always afraid**

You step out of line, the man come and take you away
We better stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Stop, now, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Stop, children, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down

No College Kid Needs a Water Park to Study

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/01/09/opinion/trustees-tuition-lazy-rivers.html?_r=0

"The unfortunate truth is that while most college presidents care deeply about their institution’s success, an important part of their job is to shake free more resources. They seldom initiate serious campaigns to contain costs.

This means it falls on trustees to be better prepared to help challenge costly proposals that don’t add educational value. When it comes to state schools, the states themselves should educate trustees to understand their responsibilities to the citizenry and students. Training on big-picture issues and higher-education trends, such as the financial trade-off between instruction and research, the costs of intercollegiate athletics, and the expansion of amenities, would help trustees develop courage to ask college presidents probing questions that look beyond institutional narratives and cherry-picked rhetoric."

Too much of our politics in our country is binary. Yes for profits are horrible and Obama's administration took steps to address the problem (steps sadly being unwound by de Vos and Trump). Public institutions also have to address whether they are providing the very best education at the lowest cost.

Mitch Daniels and Purdue University Tuition Freeze

http://www.insideindianabusiness.com/story/34956963/purdue-tuition-freeze-remains

"Purdue University's streak of flat tuition will continue for another year. President Mitch Daniels has announced tuition at Purdue will remain at 2012 levels through the 2018-2019 academic year.

This is the sixth consecutive year tuition has remained flat at Purdue. The university says the extension ensures that four graduating classes will have gone through Purdue without experiencing a tuition increase. Additionally, Daniels announced a 2.5 percent merit raise pool for employees this year."

So how is Mitch Daniels doing at Purdue? How is this happening? I think part of it is an increase in state appropriations after a long series of reductions, but I have not found really good numbers (the method or reporting the budget changed from 2012 to now). Is what he doing applicable to other institutions?

Chimps beat up, murder and then cannibalise their former tyrant

DELETED

https://www.newscientist.com/article/2119677-chimps-beat-up-murder-and-then-cannibalise-their-former-tyrant/

Thirteen years ago, Foudouko reigned over one of the chimp clans at the Fongoli study site, part of the Fongoli Savanna Chimpanzee Project. As alpha male, he was “somewhat of a tyrant”, Pruetz says.

Early one morning, Pruetz and her team heard loud screams and hoots from the chimps’ nearby sleep nest. At dawn, they found Foudouko dead, bleeding profusely from a bite to his right foot. He also had a large gash in his back and a ripped anus. Later he was found to have cracked ribs. Pruetz says Foudouko probably died of internal injuries or bled out from his foot wound.

Foudouko also had wounds on his fingers. These were likely to have been caused by chimps clamping them in their teeth to stretch his arms out and hold him down during the attack, says Pruetz.

After his death, the gang continued to abuse Foudouko’s body, throwing rocks and poking it with sticks, breaking its limbs, biting it and eventually eating some of the flesh.
