discocrisco01's JournalIs Bernie's Single Payer More Progressive Than ACA?
Talkleft states
"'m honestly surprised to be asking the question in the title - thinking the answer would be "of course it is!" But the structure of ACA, with Medicaid expansion and means tested insurance subsidies makes this not so clear according to Austan Goolsbee:
2) Sanders is right that we shouldn't just think of his single-payer health plan as a $15 trillion tax increase. We should ask whether people would be better or worse off in total. But even by that measure, lots of low and middle income workers would, in fact, be worse off and paying higher taxes."

French government promises to keep law and order in Calais
The BBC reports that
"Interior minister Bernard Cazeneuve said 35 people - 26 migrants and nine activists - were arrested during the incident on Saturday.
He said mobile forces, including riot police, gendarmes and border units, had been mobilised for several months.
It comes as the UK Road Haulage Association, called for more "decisive action" to secure the port.
Chief executive Richard Burnett said France should deploy its military to guard the area warning it was "only a matter of time before our worst fears become a reality and a UK-bound truck driver is killed".
But in a statement Mr Cazeneuve said the country's government had a total determination to maintain law and order."
The migrants have a total valid reason to protest. They are being held in squalid conditions that are unsanitary and live in absolute squalid. Where they should be in the country is one thing?. But their living conditions are definitely worth a protest.
Former Secret Service Agent Lambasts Bernie Sanders and His Proposal of ‘Free Stuff’
The Blaze (a right-wing website) reports a former Secret Service agent decries Bernies proposals with the following statement
There is nothing democratic about voting to take away an individuals liberty to choose their healthcare options by turning it over to government bureaucrats.
And there is nothing democratic about voting away a familys freedom to choose where they can send their child to school.
Of course, what fails to mention is that this coded language stating that the plutocrats have the right to have unlimited wealth and freedom to obtain that wealth. I think is targeting the upper middle-class and thinking that their freedoms will be infringed by Bernie policies of "social engineering". In reality, Bernie is really trying to make proposals to make it easier for class mobility and to have true financial freedom by not worrying about going to bankrupt from endless student debt or medical debt due to sky-high medical bills.
What the poster's is actually doing is defying free-market capitalism and pretends that it is some perfect, rational system when it is not. In reality, free market capitalist is imperfect system that is corrupted by monopolies and state interests that intertwined with plutocrats. There is no true "free market" and the author's concept of that free market is a just an illusion and his figment of imagination.
