The AP has a story about the "Mom's for Liberty"
For Tillman, the government response to COVID-19 served as an “awakening” that spurred her to organize the Seminole County chapter of Moms for Liberty, a polarizing group that started in Florida and rapidly expanded across the country.
“It really brought on the need for parents to really be involved in our children’s education,” she said.

For me, these movements are likely to form on Facebook among parents who are part of a right-wing echo chamber that does not provide for exposure to various points of view. Another thing to point is that these parents are usually upper-middle-class to upper-class parents where the parents have more time to gather with other moms who think the same thing in person. Also, they consume all of the same right-wing facebooks pages that spread the same disinformation. Since their time is so wrapped into raising their kids, trying to make radical changes in one's cognitive bias would be an overwhelming task, one that potentially isolates somebody, and along with a lot of other issues.
The way to break systematic racism is to teach it in school, so the children learn to recognize cognitive bias early and make corrective decisions when they recognize that they have cognitive bias. For the parents, I cannot change them, and I would not address them as the problem because the daily grind of life is too much for a person to make radical changes in one political view. However, teaching your children to do that can be a valuable and necessary thing.
The problem educators have is that the "Mom's for Liberty" types have such a black and white view of the world because right-wing free-market profiteers have skewed their viewpoint. Something basic as teaching your kids to recognize cognitive bias and critical thinking is considered a significant threat that undermines the parents' foundation of "Western Values."
To us on the left, this seems to be gross exaggeration and misunderstanding. Yet, the "Moms for Liberty" see this stuff as threatening to their position in society and have the maternal evolutionary instinct to protect their offspring from external threats that undermine the foundation of "Western Values" that these parents cherish so much. Also, they do not want the teach kids to question parents' values, especially when the parents view "the strict parent" model to protect their kids against "cultural corruption." So the parents show up at the school board meeting as threatened wounded animals ready to fight back against the imaginary foes who will threaten their children to prevent "cultural corruption" and undermine their parental authority
Left out of this discussion is the impact of right-wing media exploiting the natural angst of these parents into a profit center. Also, each right-wing news outlet competes against the other, so creating a conspiracy theory is one way to get ahead of the competition. Outrage seems to be the easiest way to generate revenue and make a profit. Also, the consumers of your product want you to produce outrage and want to consume outrage. When people feel disposed to anger when their value system is threatened, somebody aggravates that anger even more to create anger, resulting in an angry mob showing up on the school board.
Once you understand this, then dealing with the mob becomes a lot easier. You cannot calm their outrage but rather calmly endure it. If they ask you about it, I guess empathize with them and state that our actions are forward-looking, and you might not understand them now, but in the long run, it will produce a better world for your children to live in.
For real solutions that we can apply at a national level, please don't ask me. I am ranting about my thoughts on this issue and not try solve any problems.

During the call, Wood questioned where the money raised to overturn the election is going and accused Powell of being a scammer.
Later in the conversation, Wood and Powell both said they believe Powell is currently under federal investigation, and Wood claimed that Powell "Signed my name to certain lawsuits without my knowledge or permission, and she hasn't been honest about that." He added, "I'm not happy about it, I think I was set up by Sidney Powell."
Back to the topic of Rittenhouse, Wood and Byrne agreed that Rittenhouse must have been "Coached" by someone to disparage Wood in his interview with Fox News' Tucker Carlson

US Customs officials seize nearly 4,000 bongs at DC airport

(CNN)US Customs and Border Protection officials seized a shipment of
almost 4,000 bongs at Washington Dulles International Airport, the
agency said.
The $56,000 shipment arrived from China on October 2 manifested as
"gravity pipes," the CBP said in a release Wednesday.
CBP import specialists "confirmed that the glass bongs violated U.S.
laws on the importation of drug paraphernalia," the release said.
The bongs were headed to an address in Los Angeles County, California.

Security Guard for News Crew Shot Wednesday in Oakland Dies: Police

The security guard who was shot in an attempted armed robbery of a news crew in downtown Oakland Wednesday has died, police said Saturday morning.
The death, that happened Saturday morning, is now being investigated by the Oakland Police Department's homicide section, and investigators are asking anyone with information to contact the homicide section at (510) 238-3821 or call Crime Stoppers at (510) 777-8572. Callers can remain anonymous.

Thieves target Home Depot in California, making off with hammers, crowbars and other tools

Up to 10 people entered a Home Depot store in California on Friday night and left with a range of stolen tools, according to police officials.
The incident took place at approximately 8 p.m. local time in Lakewood, Los Angeles Sheriff's Department Deputy Miguel Meza told CNN. Lakewood is a city in Los Angeles County
The theft comes as similar tools have been used in a number of smash-and-grab robberies at high-end stores in several major US cities this month.
At least 18 people broke into a Nordstrom department store in Los Angeles Monday night and stole thousands of dollars in merchandise, the city's police chief said. Similar crimes have been reported in the San Francisco Bay Area, Chicago, and other cities.

At least one person was shot at The Streets at Southpoint Mall in Durham, North Carolina, on Friday.
Authorities responded to reports of shots fired at the mall, and Durham City Council member Mark-Anthony Middleton confirmed to NBC affiliate WRAL of Raleigh that at least one person has been shot.
"The mall is closed.WRAL reporter Aaron Thomas was at the mall shopping when he tweeted that he saw"many people running.
" He added that, after a brief lockdown, Durham police started escorting shoppers out of the mall.
