House GOP banking on Plan C, Plan C?

Now it’s on to “Plan C,” or whatever Republicans call this third iteration of government funding-debt ceiling strategy.

The result could be a government shutdown in just a few days on Oct. 1 if the House and Senate can’t agree on a government funding bill.

At this point, it’s difficult to conclusively determine where all the House GOP’s maneuvering and false starts will end. In one sense, the developments might help Congress avoid a government shutdown. Most House Republicans now seem to recognize that they will likely have to swallow a funding resolution that leaves Obamacare intact.

The House GOP Wants to Throw a Temper Tantrum, and Boehner Can't Stop Them

Here’s the question to ask yourself while watching the government shutdown/debt-limit insanity play out these next few days: Is the congressional GOP a global menace, bent on destruction of an epic scale, or merely a goofy, intermittently-competent-at-best, primarily self-destructive force?

snip..........

Alas, nothing doing for Boehner here. Despite offering conservatives just about every possible inducement to vote for his debt limit bill, the House GOP leadership still didn’t get enough takers, forcing it to abandon the strategy. The problem, apparently, is that conservatives are deeply skeptical of Boehner personally. “Boehner suffers from a ‘trust gap’ among a certain group of his members,” reports Politico. “If Boehner is for it, this faction has to be against it.”

House Republicans lack votes to move own plan to raise debt ceiling

House Republican leaders found themselves struggling to secure the votes on Thursday for a debt-ceiling measure they hoped to pass swiftly through the House as the latest salvo in a multifront fiscal fight.
In a closed-door meeting, the leaders outlined to their members a proposal that would demand a laundry list of Republican priorities in exchange for a yearlong suspension of the nation’s $16.7 trillion borrowing limit. The centerpiece of the plan is a one-year delay of President Obama’s signature healthcare law.

Republicans Voted For Government Shutdown, Blamed Ted Cruz (VIDEO)

The MSNBC host compared the current fight in the Senate to the Republicans shutting down the government in 1995. Maddow pointed out that Americans blamed Republicans, rather than Bill Clinton, for the shutdown by "huge margins" and that Clinton was reelected the next year.

She said that Republicans are doing the same thing now, except they are trying to pin blame for the situation on Ted Cruz. Maddow continued, "And it is kind of a brilliant idea, because that guy sort of wants to be blamed."

Conservative group: Mitch McConnell, John Cornyn ‘turncoats’

A conservative political action committee on Tuesday slammed two of the Senate’s top Republicans as “turncoats” who have “surrendered” on the health care fight.
“Mitch McConnell and John Cornyn have surrendered to Barack Obama, Harry Reid, and the Democrats,” charged an email blast from the Senate Conservatives Fund. “More importantly, they have surrendered to Obamacare

For Ted Cruz, it's quickly becoming an ignominious failure.

Indeed, the far-right's senator's entire scheme is imploding in ways that he apparently didn't see coming. Cruz has lost House Republicans, who were furious when he predicted failure last week after they followed his lead. Cruz has lost Senate Republicans, who consider his hare-brained scheme ridiculous and are annoyed by his efforts to exacerbate intra-party tensions.

In other words............. Do you really want this guy (fool) as President?

Obamacare Premiums Report Shows Low Prices For Uninsured With Wide Variation

The average price for basic health coverage purchased on health insurance exchanges created by President Barack Obama's health care reform law will be $249 a month, not counting subsidies, in 48 states reviewed by the Department of Health and Human Services, according to a government report published Wednesday.

The health insurance exchanges, marketplaces for uninsured people and consumers who don't get health benefits from their employers, are scheduled to launch on Oct. 1 for an enrollment period that runs through the end of March for 2014 coverage. This latest analysis of what the health insurance plans will cost comes just six days before people will be able to find out what they'll actually pay.

"For millions of Americans, these new options will finally make health insurance work within their budget," Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said during a conference call with reporters Tuesday. Reporters were provided access to the report prior to its publication.

Americans will find out the truth about Obamacare and the GOP knows it,

I have spent some hours on line researching what Obamacare will mean for me and mine. My husband and I are both self employed, and for our family we pay almost $1600 a month presently---slightly mitigated by the fact that it is 100% deductible.

On October first the exchanges will open for membership, plans starting in January of 2014. And on that month, my family will pay $600 less a month with GOLD coverage. The choices are Catastrophic, Bronze, Silver and Gold, in that order.

It ain't single payer, but it is $600 less a month for good coverage, no pre-existing condition screening, important for us as my husband has one, and this includes keeping our son on our insurance. I'll take it. (These rates are specific to my state and one of 4 or 5 company/HMO exhange plans being offered so far.)

So last night we got together with three other neighbors who do not have health care through work, and are paying through the nose for it, and looked up everyone's options. They will all save at least what my family will, some more due to their ages.

I realize this is highly anecdotal, but eventually what my neighbors and my family found out yesterday, will happen across this land. Not to mention the doors left open in the ACA to encourage the evolution of single payer, state by state.
