Republicans fearful of 2013, poll says

Nearly three-quarters of Republicans are fearful about their own lives in 2013 - a huge jump of over 50 percent since 2006, according to a poll released Monday.

By contrast, three-quarters of Democrats are hopeful about their own lives in the coming year, as are half of independents, according to an ABC/Washington Post poll.

A whopping 72 percent of Republicans are fearful about their own lives, and 79 percent are fearful for the world, the poll found. Only 20 percent of Republicans were fearful in 2006, a gigantic 52-point leap. In 2008, those numbers were already rising as President Barack Obama was elected. Then, 54 percent were fearful.

Overall, 53 percent of Americans are hopeful for themselves in 2013, and 44 percent are fearful. A majority of Americans — 56 percent — are fearful for the world in general.

FreedomWorks Feud: War Inside Tea Party

When the news broke in early December that former GOP Rep. Dick Armey had abruptly resigned as chairman of FreedomWorks, a powerhouse of the conservative movement and an instrumental force within the tea party, Armey maintained that the nasty split was due to differences he had with the top management of FreedomWorks about the group's operations and future. Immediately, media reports disclosed that Armey had been concerned that Matt Kibbe, the group's president, had used FreedomWorks resources to promote a book he had written (which was released in June) and that Armey himself had received an $8 million payout from a FreedomWorks board member to ease his departure. But internal documents obtained by Mother Jones show that the bitter war inside FreedomWorks has also resulted in allegations of staff wrongdoing (prompting an investigation by lawyers) and counter-allegations that Armey and his allies tried to turn FreedomWorks into a partisan outfit backing establishment Republicans over tea party insurgents.

Do you think the GOP will still vote Noooo if we go over the fiscal cliff?

Will the GOP vote no to a middle class tax cut if we go over the fiscal cliff?

President Obama should go back to his original deal.....

Leave Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid out.

Let the GOP propose publicily what their cuts to these programs are. If the GOP will not make a deal unless these programs have cuts the GOP needs to say this loud and clear then pay the political price for their beliefs. President Obama needs to stop providing political cover for the GOP and their positions. It hurts the Democratic party in the long run, ie 2014.

If Social Security cuts in any form is not a GOP request, and the GOP does not request it publicly, then President Obama should not even entertain the idea. Period.

Limbaugh blasts ‘overeducated’ young single white women

Rush Limbaugh goes back on the attack today.........

Following “sincerely” apologizing for calling a Georgetown University student a “slut,” conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh on Tuesday complained about “overeducated” single white women.

“What is it with all these young, single, white women? Overeducated doesn’t mean intelligent,” he ranted, going on to talk about journalist Tracie McMillian’s book.

On Monday, attorney Max Kennerly with The Beasley Firm told the Philidelphia Daily News that Fluke could “definitely” sue the radio host because he had made “false statements of fact.”

Cato Institute Caught in Rift Over Direction

From its perch in a spacious brand-new headquarters blocks from the White House, the Cato Institute has built on its reputation as a venerable libertarian research center unafraid to cross party lines.

Now, however, a rift with one of its founding members — the billionaire conservative Charles Koch — is threatening the institute’s identity and independence, its leaders say, and is exposing fault lines over Mr. Koch’s aggressive and well-financed brand of Republican politics.

The rift has its roots, Cato officials said, in a long-simmering feud over efforts by Mr. Koch and his brother David Koch to install their own people on the institute’s 16-member board and to establish a more direct pipeline between Cato and the family’s Republican political outlets, including groups that Democrats complain have mounted a multimillion-dollar assault on President Obama.

G.O.P. Campaigns Grow More Dependent on ‘Super PAC’ Aid

The spending reports revealed the breadth and power of super PACs as the campaign hits a critical and perhaps decisive period, with outside groups poised to pick up a growing share of political spending during the costly primary battle that lies ahead.

Maxine Waters is Fired UP!

These are legislators (House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.)) who are destroying this country rather than bringing us together, creating jobs, making sure we have a good tax policy, bringing our jobs from back offshore, incentivizing those who keep their jobs here. They are bringing down this country, destroying this country, because they can." Maxine Waters 2012

If your house is in foreclosure do not move out. Very important!

If your house is up for foreclosure make the people who say that you owe them money, prove legally with the right paperwork in order, that you actually legally owe them money. Do not move out until you have a lawyer examine the paperwork for signatures and correct dates etc. More than likely you do not owe these people money since they do not own the loan they say they own. In other words they are fraudulently making a claim to your property. Do not move out!

Audit Uncovers Extensive Flaws in Foreclosures

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/16/business/california-audit-finds-broad-irregularities-in-foreclosures.html?_r=1

Anecdotal evidence indicating foreclosure abuse has been plentiful since the mortgage boom turned to bust in 2008. But the detailed and comprehensive nature of the San Francisco findings suggest how pervasive foreclosure irregularities may be across the nation.
