And rainbow-colored Swiss Chard:

Swiss Chard

The stems of Swiss chard look a little like celery and can be green, red or rainbow-colored- a mixture of red, pink, orange and yellow. In the ‘greens’ family, Swiss Chard belongs to the same family as beets and spinach and shares a similar taste profile: it has the bitterness of beet greens and the slightly salty flavor of spinach leaves. These greens also rank very high in nutritional value as they are fat free, cholesterol free, good source of magnesium, excellent source vitamins A and C.

Good in smoothies.

Indeed. The GOP just slashed funding set to protect us from Ebola:

GOP House guts White House’s request for funds to fight and contain Ebola

By David Ferguson - September 9, 2014

House Republicans have gutted a White House-sponsored bill that would direct funding to the fight to contain the hemorrhagic fever Ebola, which is raging out of control in multiple African countries.

The Hill blog reported that a source familiar with the budget negotiations confirmed that House Appropriations Committee Chairman Hal Rogers (R-KY) will agree to provide only $40 million of the $88 million the Obama administration asked for in its 2015 budget.

Twenty-five million dollars of the $40 million would go to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and $15 to the Biological Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) in order to speed up production of an experimental anti-Ebola drug.

The Obama administration originally asked for $58 million for BARDA, a division of the Department of Health and Human Services. The agency is tasked with coordinating the nation’s response to public health crises, including medical testing, vaccines, drug development and other products and services associated with “public health and medical consequences of chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) accidents, incidents and attacks, pandemic influenza, and emerging infectious diseases.”

Apparently, the kill ratio from refusing Medicaid expansion, cutting off food to mothers, children, the poor, elderly and disabled and polluting us to death is isn't meeting their quota for ridding them of the 47% fast enough. Not to mention all those, uh, not-quite-white people here and there. The Party of Death rolls on. Call it what it is. I'm tired of the debating over policy with people who refuse national solutions that don't enrich the Koch brothers. They want people dead so they can be wealthier.

The Time Lapse pic reminds me of this:

His time in office has gone 'from the ridiculous to the sublime' (or the surreal) with the throngs of haters. I keep hearing this song:

Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right, here I am, Stuck in the middle with you. Yes I'm stuck in the middle with you, And I'm wondering what it is I should do, It's so hard to keep this smile from my face, Losing control, yeah, I'm all over the place, Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right, Here I am, stuck in the middle with you.

Don't think he's confused, though. He has a plan and he's going for it.

VIDEO. See it quick before Fox shuts down the Occupy Democrats channel (again):

Typical technique used by billionaire owned MSM, pitting one dissenter against five, more of less, conseratives to give the appearance that theirs is the only majority and sane view on the air.

After they finish beating up one who is dissenting, they jump the shark and cut off their mic.

As they were going to say something so egregious or dishonest, on a station that has made its owners happy with lying, that it MUST BE STOPPED RIGHT NOW!

This is corporate censoring for the millions who believe this cult and will vote accordingly. Don't count on anyone viewing Fox becoming outraged about it, either.

They will be voting in November. Will we?

They're diversifying their portfolio here. But I'll go with the future, instead:

I'm glad to see how the poll numbers worked out.

This is the RW meme. Who do we want protecting him, Blackwater's newest incarnation?

The Secret Service is at best grossly negligent and incompetent as an institution. And that's assuming all of these failures are isolated incidents.

No, the GOP who slashed the budget for security at Benghazi, for the POTUS and every other agency of the US government are responsible. This even came out in their latest witch hunt committee where they pretend they don't know how this is happening but are more than likely toasting it, just as they did the shutdown and drooling over the chance to default.

The stage of the Sequester started the first chance that the Tea Party had after they got in office in 2010 and has continued to cut funding for the Secret Service and every other agency:

Budget Control Act of 2011
See also: Sequester (2013)

In 2011, sequestration was used in the Budget Control Act of 2011 (Pub. L. 112-25) as a tool in federal budget control.[2] This 2011 act authorized an increase in the debt ceiling in exchange for $2.4 trillion in deficit reduction over the following ten years. This total included $1.2 trillion in spending cuts identified specifically in the legislation, with an additional $1.2 trillion in cuts that were to be determined by a bipartisan group of Senators and Representatives known as the "Super Committee" or officially as the United States Congress Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction. The Super Committee failed to reach an agreement. In that event, a trigger mechanism in the bill was activated to implement across-the-board reductions in the rate of increase in spending known as "sequestration".[14]

The Sequestration Transparency Act of 2012 (Pub. L. 112-155) requires the president to submit a report to Congress on a potential sequestration which may be triggered by the failure of the "Super Committee" to propose and for Congress to enact, a plan to reduce the U.S. Federal Budget by $1.2 trillion as required by the Budget Control Act.[15] The report – which was issued September 14, 2012, and was close to 400 pages long – provided the warning that "sequestration would be deeply destructive to national security... and core government functions".[16]

Please note, there are many sources that prove none of this process was the fault of Obama or the Democratic Party. They support government as an agent of the majority of people, not the ones who want the government to get out of the way so allow them full ability to exploit the people. Their current round of extortion only funds government until the end of December 2014.

The trashing of federal employees trying to do their jobs at the national parks and the White House since the last shut down, is not a mistake for the GOP. But it is a mistake for Democrats anywhere to promote the trashing of people doing more with less workers. And to not hold accountable at the polls those who not only want to starve government, but the people of the USA.

Rand Paul was gleeful at the thought of he and his friends getting to 'manage catastrophe' by default. The dilemma Obama found himself in has been well documented, and we know, or should know, what the GOP's intent in the Sequester, shutdown and default was, which was no less than to make homeless, hopeless and quickly dead, the 47% that Romney, Paul, Ryan, Cruz and the rest want removed from the land of the living.

The only solution is to confront the real source of this at the polls, not getting down on the working class:

Secret Service Director Says GOP Sequestration Left Them Down 550 Employees

http://www.politicususa.com/2014/09/30/secret-service-director-gop-sequrestration-left-500-employees.html

In the House Oversight Committee hearing which started Tuesday on the problems in the Secret Service as it has failed repeatedly to protect the First Family, the Secret Service blamed the sequestration budget cuts for cuts in staffing.

Bloomberg News writer Del Quentin Wilber tweeted:

.@SecretService Pierson: #sequestration hurt staffing. Down 550 employees due to budget cuts.

— Del Quentin Wilber (@DelWilber) September 30, 2014

(snip)

Republicans tried to blame President Obama for the sequester after it turned into a political disaster, but the discovery of a 2011 PowerPoint presentation that Speaker John Boehner gave to Republicans detailing his sequester idea killed that mid deployment. The White House has had a plan on the table since December of 2012 to deal with sequestration to no avail.

(snip)

While sequestration is not the only reason for the terrifying failures of the Secret Service to protect the First Family, it does take money to run things. It takes money to pay good people– a concept that Republicans tout when it excuses Wall Street bonuses in the millions while refusing to raise the minimum wage.

(end snip)

Something I am assuming won't be in the MEdia's account. They are all too busy with the Congress Critters' soundbites.

Those in media releasing stories trashing these guys neglect Sequestration and how it effects us. Not the people at the WA Post, though, so they can keep on stirring hatred of yet another federal agency.

Likely another attack on unionized federal workers and their solution will be to fire all of them as has been suggested because of the sudden media outrage. We The People are hapless sponges in that regard, they toss us red meat and we gulp it down.

The WP article could have gone into the real concern of these intrusions, a coup. Instead, MSM cheers RW extremists all across the country, and plays those who aren't at the same time and then people will be disaffected and not vote.

Either way, the RW wins. If Obama is slain, there will be a Civil War. Who is locked, loaded and ready for that? The RW. Who promotes it all day long? The RW. What does the RW and LW both say? That Government isn't doing the job without looking at the hands behind the curtain. It's depressing.

JMHO!

We can only hope. Since his chances at dating anyone with a functioning brain may decrease.

Unfortunately, there is the off chance that someone would bed him. Bet he's against birth control and condoms, because his sperm is 'sacred.' Well, sorta. Likely follows this great spiritual leader :

Mark Driscoll, anti-woman pastor, is in freefall - accused of bullying other pastors at megachurch

A quick review of Driscoll’s greatest hits: Stay-at-home dads are “worse than unbelievers.” James Cameron’s Avatar is “the most demonic, satanic film” he’s ever seen. A wife should keep herself “sexually available” to her husband and, if she believes the Bible, better be giving him frequent blowjobs. “Effeminate” church musicians should be mocked on Facebook. Abstaining from alcohol can be a “sin.” The church has turned Jesus into a “a Richard Simmons, hippie, queer Christ,” when he’s actually a “prize fighter” who is “coming back looking for blood.” The Bible says women can’t have leadership positions in church because they’re “more gullible and easier to deceive than men.” Male masturbation is a “form of homosexuality” if there’s not a woman present.

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2012/01/13/mark-driscoll-s-sex-manual-real-marriage-scandalizes-evangelicals.html

Please take note that:

Driscoll seemed intent on shoring up the home base, what has become in 18 years one of the nation's fastest growing evangelical churches with 15 campuses in 5 states. "I love you and I really appreciate you," he told the flock of about 500. They gave him a standing ovation.

After reading his book and listening to him all these years, they applauded.

Some excerpts from the link above. There are thousands involved in these little hate filled cults now, even in blue states. While the original article was from 2012, it was updated in 2013. I expect he's still grifting and teaching his sick 'gospel':

Mark Driscoll’s Sex Manual ‘Real Marriage’ Scandalizes Evangelicals

Evangelicals of all stripes are outraged at a new marriage book by controversial Seattle pastor Mark Driscoll, from conservatives shocked by the graphic sex descriptions to liberals who hate its degrading of women.

You know an evangelical book is controversial when the New York Times and the Daily Mail start covering the fallout. That happened last year when hipster pastor Rob Bell’s book, Love Wins, failed to say unequivocally that non-Christians go to hell. It’s about to happen again with Real Marriage: The Truth About Sex, Friendship and Life Together, a marriage and sex manual from Seattle megachurch pastor Mark Driscoll and his wife, Grace, that just cracked Amazon’s top 50 and is sparking a heated online debate. Just about everything Driscoll says seems calculated to go viral.

One of the biggest evangelical celebrity pastors, he’s developed a reputation as a testosterone-oozing Calvinist bruiser who shouts down his congregation, swears from the pulpit and sometimes seems to think that if you’re not cut out for the locker room, you’re not cut out for heaven. If you’re a woman, you’d better make sure you keep your husband fed and serviced...

The treatment of the book as a shock document is jarring considering how long “straight talk” about sex has been a feature of evangelical cool. (As I write, a Texas pastor and his wife are livestreaming themselves in bed on the church roof to promote their new sex book.) The Driscolls’ tone is straightforward and factual, far less graphic than a Judd Apatow movie, and surprisingly free of Driscoll’s infamous overstatement. Mark Driscoll has said virtually everything in Real Marriage in other books and sermons, and his permissive stance toward deviance in the marriage bed has precursors at least as far back as 1981’s Intended for Pleasure, a popular sex manual written by Ed and Gaye Wheat. Historian Susan Wise Bauer points this out in the Christian review Books & Culture: “The recommendations can pretty well be summed up in two phrases: Sure, if you both want to, as long as it doesn’t cause a problem. Fair enough, but Ed Wheat, among others, already said it...”

There are links embedded within the article at TDB, but I don't have the time. This another reason why I shy away from vocal Xtians now. What great dates these guys will make for some unsuspecting women.
