The great federal COVID mystery is resolved for Governor Cuomo.


Mark Meadows revealed the administration's long term stance: It was in effect, preemptive capitulation.

Paraphrasing:

"If you believe you can't control it, then you don't even TRY. And the federal government has never tried to control the virus..."

Fact: New York state controlled the virus...because we controlled the spread.

Now. We control the slow spread through the vaccine period, which starts now.

FL, ... GA .. AZ testing, going down. So they can say we have fewer cases. It's more preemptive capitulation on the theory 'we can't control the virus. We just can't.'
It's giving up before you knew whether or not you can make a difference...

Vaccinations is a more massive undertaking than testing. Government is approaching it the same way they did testing, PPE and hospital surge...
another 160,000 people will die by February if you assume you can't control it.

Why did America give up? ... How did America give up and lose this war? ... Japan, Canada, Mexico ... doing a better job than the USA because they didn't give up. They didn't start with this premise that you can't control the virus.
The federal government was just wrong.

We're talking about 160,000 lives AND we have evidence, and we have facts, and we know that people will do it.

Why would they assume you can't control the virus.
There's only one answer: because "we don't think people will do what they need to do to control the virus."

You underestimate the American people. We know that people will join the effort. We know they will follow. We know that they will do the right thing. Because we're doing it here, in NY... 98% mask in compliance. The country still hasn't done it ... because they're smart, and they heard the facts, and they care about one another, and they care about themselves.

Don't underestimate the American people. Don't underestimate their goodness, their intelligence, their smarts. Get this political garbage out of the way and lead forward.

This is going to be really one of the great governmental derelictions of duty and responsibility. Even if you believe that you can't control the virus blahblahblahblah...

Why not tell people to wear masks? ... Your own CDC says it, Dr. Fauci says it, Dr. Birx says it, the White House Coronavirus Task Force says it, every scientist says it, every person with a brain in their head says it, 98% of New Yorkers say it... 130,000 lives, just by saying 'wear a mask.' Why not?!
