Biden Offers Government Post To Elvira, Mistress Of The Dark

WASHINGTON—Calling the late-night horror film host well-suited for the job “and then some,” Vice President Joe Biden offered Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, an entry-level position within the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, White House sources confirmed Thursday.

Biden, who first saw the buxom temptress in a tight, revealing black dress on a Los Angeles television station in 1982, said he immediately “got rock hard” and realized Elvira had the necessary assets to go “real far,” and made it his personal mission to find the Mistress of the Dark a plum position in D.C.

“Elvira’s hot to trot, so as soon as I was clued in to something opening up over at OPM, I got my main man [Inspector General Patrick E.] McFarland on the horn and called in a favor,” said Biden, explaining that McFarland owed him big-time after the six-term Delaware senator took one for the team and gave the agency’s acting director, Beth Cobert, a “wild ride” at a recent gala event. “They want her to take some bullshit technical aptitude test first, but I’ll snag all the answers beforehand, so she’s gonna ace it.”

“Besides, it ain’t rocket science,” Biden continued. “All she’s gotta do is show up to a few meetings in that little low-cut black number of hers and she’s golden.”

Live Streaming Platform Firetalk Teams Up With The Young Turks

Firetalk, which aims to be a kind of Periscope for YouTubers and other creatives, has teamed up with the Young Turks to provide some interactivity for the live stream of the long-standing progressive political program.

The Young Turks was founded as a radio talk show in 2002, but has since become an online powerhouse, with daily live streams across a YouTube network of 25 channels. Firetalk will be simulcasting the Young Turk’s talk show featuring founder Cenk Uygur twice a week, giving viewers a chance to chat with the hosts and other viewers during the show.

During off-times, the Young Turk’s Firetalk channel will still offer pre-scheduled programming and the ability for viewers to chat with each other. Firetalk GM Rush Doshi argued that the network was an ideal partner for Firetalk. “The Young Turks really get community,” he said.

Firetalk streams and chat rooms are available through the service’s iPhone app as well as its website. The service officially launched at Vidcon last month after a few months of beta-testing, and Doshi said that his team has been busy building a live streaming service that appeals to existing content creator

Question for Mineral Man Or anyone that could answer.

Our indie Movie Facebook page is hitting monthly 300K FB Reach and a 30K Post engagement.

Is that good comparatively?

We also have six months before we release the movie on Amazon, Itunes etc. Also Planning on increasing our social media footprint.

Likely will submit it to Austin Fantastic Film Fest and ‎maybe Festival international du film.


Anyway, is there some place that I could compare that? It's seems pretty good. Just would like to compare it to something.

Been comparing our progress to another production: "Harbringer Down" Staring Lance Henrickson, got released last week and had only 2554 FB likes at the time. Since it's release, it zoomed to 8K
We are at 1714 right now.

Multiple articles in the pipe and various other stuff and we are still months out from release.

Guards Gun Down Four Angels Escaping From Heaven

THE HEAVENS—Killing four and critically wounding several others, armed guards dispatched from the Right Hand of God reportedly opened fire early Monday morning on a group of angels attempting to escape from heaven.

One of the Eternal Kingdom’s night watchmen confirmed he spotted the angels during a 3 a.m. searchlight sweep of heaven’s perimeter and raised the alarm, thwarting the divine beings’ effort to break through an electrified portion of the Pearly Gates, which are infrequently patrolled at that hour.

“Early this morning, 10 angels—seven cherubim and three seraphim—were fired upon by guards,” said heaven spokeswoman Claudia Thompson, observing that the escapees had ignored several warnings issued in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek. “Several of the angels were struck in the chest and wings. Four later succumbed to their injuries after being transferred to an infirmary located in the intake/release complex within the ninth sphere of heaven.”

“The angels know the rules,” she continued. “While the use of deadly force is always a last resort, our guards are trained to use any means necessary to prevent escape from everlasting paradise.”

“Listen up, assholes, ’cause I’m only saying this once: I’ve worked way too goddamn hard to let you morons blow this thing for me,” said Clinton, repeatedly jabbing her index finger toward the viewers at home while adding that if they thought she was going to simply sit back and watch them dick her over like they did in 2008, they were out of their fucking minds.

“Seriously, don’t you dare even think about it. If you shitheads can just get in line, we can breeze through this whole campaign in 19 months and be done with it. Or, if you really want, we can do this the hard way. Because make no mistake, I’m not fucking around. The Theology of Government Shutdown: Christian Dominionism

On the eve of our government shutdown, I wanted to do some research into the theological roots of Senator Ted Cruz, the standard-bearer of the Tea Party Republicans behind the shutdown. I'm interested in understanding what account of Christianity creates the "no compromise" crusade that the Tea Party has become known for. It turns out that Ted's father, Rafael Cruz, is a pastor with Texas charismatic ministry Purifying Fire International who has been campaigning against Obamacare the last several months. He has a distinct theological vision for what America is supposed to look like: Christian dominionism.
In the months building up to the present showdown, Cruz has been giving speeches at Tea Party rallies and other religious right gatherings as part of a campaign to defund Obamacare. In watching the speeches, I can see how his status as a Cuban American refugee fits the ethos of the far right culture warrior movement perfectly. He is able to shift seamlessly from stories about the oppression of the Castro regime to talking about the Obama administration.

A good example comes from a speech at the Iowa Family Leadership Summit on August 12th where Cruz said that the government's "attack on religion" is part of a longer-term plan to establish socialism:

"When you hear this attack on religion, it's not really an attack on religion. The fundamental basis is this. Socialism requires that government becomes your God. That's why they have to destroy your concept of God. They have to destroy all your loyalties except loyalty to the government. That's what's behind homosexual marriage. It's really more about the destruction of the traditional family than about homosexuality, because you need also to destroy loyalty to the family."

Mike Huckabee Won't Rule Out Using Federal Troops To Stop Abortions

GOP presidential candidate Mike Huckabee is open to the idea of using federal troops and the FBI to stop women from having abortions.

"I will not pretend there is nothing we can do to stop this," Huckabee, the former governor of Arkansas and an outspoken social conservative, said Thursday at a campaign stop in Jefferson, Iowa.

Huckabee addressed abortion again at his next stop in Rockwell City, Iowa, where a reporter asked him whether stopping abortion would mean using federal troops or the FBI.

"We'll see if I get to be president," Huckabee said, according to the Topeka Capital-Journal.

"All American citizens should be protected," he added.

On Twitter, journalist Matt Taibbi said he had asked Huckabee the abortion question.
