I'm glad the Times went with the story, despite the threats. They're not all bad.

Speaking of the Times, we also have this from one of their employees:

" NYT columnist Frank Bruni: ‘Hillary Clinton should watch her language very carefully’
Yahoo News NowOctober 12, 2016

New York Times columnist Frank Bruni said Wednesday that should Hillary Clinton win the presidency — which he predicted — she should focus on being a leader for the whole country so that the next segment of American politics doesn’t feel like another war being fought.

Bruni told Yahoo Global News Anchor Katie Couric, “Hillary Clinton should watch her language very carefully, because it’s that sort of thing that tells people, ‘I’m not looking at someone that’s leading me, I’m looking at someone who is a victor in a battle, the next chapter of which we are about to begin.'”

“So many politicians, Democrats, Republicans, everything is a fight, us versus them. So much of the language is the language of contest. It’s almost like being in a courtroom where two sides are arguing with each other for the favor of the jury. We are all in this together, this project is all of us.” "

So, the other party has been running, failingly, on statements that they'd jail Hillary, with several second amendment mentions against her, calling her the devil, crooked, lyin, crazy, a murderer, statements that they might just prefer to start a civil war, she already stole the election, we're going to go physically stop her and her voters, and a long stream of violent and foul language including incitements to physical assault and sexual assault, and the worst potty mouthed language ever heard by any major party candidate ever, (outside of li'l bush, raygun, and Nixon cutting room floor tapes).

But some NY Times editor thought that we should hear from Frank Bruni about how Prez Clinton should watch her mouth. What, did they bring back Clark Hoyt to man the editor's desk over there? We don't need this kind of false equivalency supporting the repugs' viewpoint from the Times, when dRumpf and his repug buddies get sent packing.

If this election is won, it's won fair and square. It isn't reasonable of the Times to start out the winning candidates' administration by chiding the winner on language, considering the language the loser and his party has constantly, failingly been using, and getting away with.

The language is failing to aid their attempt to claw and gouge for power, but they're successfully using it without the drastic legal and social consequences they deserve.

And the Times is trying to start out this way at -.25 years into the next Admin.

The Times should be forced to acknowledge this fact. They also should understand that you can't pretend to be the voice of reason while engaged in saying something so eye-crossingly unreasonable.

I'm glad he performed Pigs.

It was my understanding that he got the Wall, and the other guys got all the pre-Final Cut catalogue and band name, though Waters and Barrett made the band name, and Waters wrote the majority of the songs.

It would be nice if Waters, Mason, and Gilmour got together again. The latter two are great musicians with good hearts, but Waters was the main mover behind the band. The other guys were right about the final cut being too limited (in scope), though.

Haven't seen anything like it since Molotov and Von Ribbentrop got together.

Made things a bit tough for Poland, iirc.

I think she actually said they're being too squishy squashy, & should stop being such pushy people.

Her and Dick Morris are going to grab the repug renegades by their feet, just to hold them to the fire, though, I'm pretty sure it's nothing dirty.

80% of Ohio's 11.6 million population is urban, only 20% is rural.

It's exactly like the red blue map of the US, where the blue areas are the high population ones, and the areas with 1000 square miles of tumbleweeds that have 5 people in them are red. The repugs own a huge amount of empty space, where 3 people vote R, and the US map looks really red in the middle.

It's the same here in PA. Bunch of trump signs and bumper stickers out in the low population surrounding counties, the larger cities with most of the population (7 million out of 12.8 mil total state population is in the Philly and Pgh metro areas) are blue. My blue county has more population that the 6 red ones that surround it, all combined. They have a lot of low pop empty spaces with a bunch of big dRumpf signs, to compensate for having no actual voters.

This "huge empty hayfield up the rural road from the redneck roadhouse strip club" proudly backs dRumpf. Basically.

Any coordination between private dRumpfers and repug party officials in these activities

violates the '82 Federal Consent Decree. In my state, poll watchers have to get serial numbered certificates issued by county officials, must be registered electors of the county, and any certificate they produce that they got with help from local repug party officials will automatically put them in violation of this part of the consent decree, if they don't have a prior court order in their possession:

Neither the RNC or its agents, servants, employees can be involved, directly or indirectly through other party committees, in voter fraud prevention efforts ... no ballot security, ballot integrity efforts, no prevention or remedy of voter fraud is permitted by RNC or agents.

The consent decree is in effect until 2017, though repugs went to the Supreme Court to try to get it overturned for this election.

Basically, they will have to break the law to try this crap, and not only will we wind up winning the election, their lawbreaking will cause the Consent Decree to be extended again. And a bunch of them will be liable for prison sentences.

Still haven't heard anything about Sproul's people, yet.

And I'd love to get the actual guidelines about my state law's practical definition of "vexatious delay" to voters, and about this line from Penn P.L. 333, Act No. 320: Any person who refuses to permit election officers to act, ... or who in any manner, prevents them from performing their duties and rights, is breaking the law and subject to imprisonment from 1 month minimum to 2 years maximum, or both. (Article 18, Sec. 1808).

In the 2012 election period, I'd already gotten Election Protection training and volunteer contact info, by this time. The EP coalition is lagging, at least not communicating with me, despite several reqs for info on my part, though the open threat of illegal trumpf repug activities is more pronounced.

Using this rec of your post 4 as bookmark for link in Salon article

to PA P.L. 333, Act No. 320, PA Election Code prohibiting tRumpfler's Poll Monitors or Watchers from engaging in polling place disruption.

Thanks, bt.

Other pertinent statute links, via a Nation article, one for the entire US, the other is PA law:

The Nation magazine on tRump's poll 'watcher' threats:
https://www.thenation.com/article/donald-trump-is-encouraging-intimidation-and-racial-profiling-at-the-polls/?utm_source=Sailthru&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=New%20Campaign&utm_term=daily

There are 2 good links in the article, one is about the '82 Consent Decree, forbidding any republican party officials, organizations, or agents or servants of the same, from engaging in any kind of ballot security or ballot integrity efforts, without prior court consent, especially in any areas where racial or ethnic makeup could be considered a reason for the activities. That's nationwide. The '82 consent decree:
http://electionlawblog.org/?p=85289

The other one is PA specific, because dRump said that he was going to send the police in to watch the polling places in those (dog whistle) areas where people are voting too many times. He wants to send racist rightwing trump supporting cops to watch Black and Hispanic polls. PA Title 25, Sec 3047 specifically states that the uniformed or plainclothes police aren't allowed within 100' of a polling place, unless voting, or called to preserve the peace. In no event are they to prevent any elector from voting or influence or overawe them or restrain their freedom of choice. PA election law against polling place 'policing':

The League of Women Voters Vote411 site would be a good resource for anyone who is worried they might not be on the eligible voter list, and the 866 OUR VOTE (PFAW, NAACP, etc.) and the 866 MY VOTE 1 (Urban League) numbers should be given to any voter who might need protection, beforehand. In my opinion, it is a key get out the vote mobilizing tool. If you tell people their legal right to vote might be stolen or denied, it makes them more determined to vote. And the more people who are talking about voter protection and voter's rights, the more the bad guys are going to be afraid to steal it. They'll replay in their heads past footage they remember of crooked repug elections officials being perp walked.

Big turnout is key to keeping them from stealing it, but big turnout won't help if there are hours long lines to vote. Big turnouts are only good if the turned out people actually get to vote. Campaigning by giving people those numbers is a way to get them energized, mobilized, and prepared to do something about republican trump rove sproul skulduggery. I'd inform people of Vote411, OURVOTE and MYVOTE1 and tell them to contact all 3 if they have problems.
