My most sincere wish is this...

That children bring this monster down.

Sometimes you can push against the line. Sometimes it isn’t necessarily a bad thing. But the incarceration of babies tugs at the heartstrings of every mother, father, grandparent, etc. Essentially, any decent person around the world.

I really hope that the babies bring him down. Along with the Republicans in Congress who hide in their stately offices and hide the check from big business in their pockets.

Updated again: I am so in trouble. Serious advice needed.

As it turns out, next week, my husband and I have been “obligated to go to a “gala” in DC. Our CEO and his wife were unavailable to attend which then fell on us to go. I did a little research as to the people who will sit at our table. These gentleman and presumably their wives are serious Trump-humpers.

I can’t refuse to go, or else I will put our company AND my husband in a negative light. If I call out any names or the name of the event here, it will be easy to identify us, thus ruining his career.

I have to sit at a table of 8 Trumpets without going full on Wonder Woman and ruining my husband’s 28-yr career.

What to do?

Where is the flu when I need it!!!

Thank you all for your replies and advice. Many very helpful, many funny. You all have given me a lot of creative ways to avoid political conflict. I may or may not be too worried about this event. I go to very few of these types of things.

So, to the numerous posters saying that I may be making too much of a big deal about this. The thing is, these are no ordinary Trumpers. These are high-level, in the elite club, Trumpers. It is a charity event for wounded veterans, so my focus will be on that.

It is tonight. The dinner is at an exclusive country club. This is not a group that we fit into. My focus will be on the charity goals. If that runs out, then I hope to talk about my pastry training and our favorite vacations. Off the chart, you know.

I will take the advice of many to not drink. Thanks for that advice, though I am not one to confront Trumpers under any condition.

I don’t think is a secret that the Russians and the Republicans have collaborated to fuck up this country and turn it into an autocratic society.

We know it. We have seen it. Until Mueller gets to the point where he brings charges, we are left to drift into whatever direction the winds happens to blow.

I know all the “GOTV” efforts are superbly important, but I think there must be something more that we can do to prevent Russia from taking over our country.....our Democracy.....our Rule of Law.

I’m asking. GOTV is important, but I truly believe it is going to take more than that. What that is.....I truly have no idea.

But I am heartsick over the direction our country has gone. Is it possible to fix it, or as an almost retiree, do I need to find another country to repatriate to?

CDC Director Brenda Fitzgerald resigns

Dr. Brenda Fitzgerald, director of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, resigned Wednesday, a day after Politico reported Fitzgerald's purchase of tobacco stock after she took the position at the nation's top public health agency.

Such an investment is obviously at odds with the mission of the CDC, considering cigarette smoking will result in the deaths of nearly half a million Americans this year. Smoking remains the leading cause of preventable death in the United States.

The CDC's slogan is "24/7: Saving Lives, Protecting People." But Fitzgerald bet against that mission just one month into her tenure at the agency, when she purchased stock in a tobacco company -- one of the very drugs she is supposed to be leading the crusade against.

FBI Raid Happening Now in VA

This is being reported on the local television news.

The warrant was served out of the Eastern District Virginia Court. The same one that issued the Manafort warrant.

I haven’t found anything online about this yet. Large FBI presence and multiple boxes being removed from a condominium in Sterling VA.

I will update as more info comes out.

ETA: So far the only online mention of this is by FOX.
