Ron Johnson
Conspiracy theories

Republican Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson has said that he supports an audit of his home state's 2020 election results.

He also mentioned that he has spoken with Sidney Powell, a former attorney with the re-election campaign of former President Donald Trump. She has pushed baseless conspiracy theories about fraud in the 2020 election.

Johnson made his comments while speaking with political reporter Lauren Windsor.

"I really do think there's too much concentration on the [voting] machines," he told Windsor. "We have paper ballots. We have the machine logs. We've got the machine totals. We should be focusing on that."................................

Calls to expel ‘traitorous’ Madison Cawthorn grow after he warns of ‘bloodshed’ and lies about ‘rigged’ election

August 31, 2021

Remarks made by U.S. Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC) are being seen as so volatile and destructive some are calling for his expulsion from Congress.

The North Carolina Republican lawmaker was warned to stop campaigning across the country and start paying attention to his own constituents. On Sunday, The Washington Post reports, Cawthorn told his local Macon County Republican Party "that elections in the United States are 'rigged' and said there will be 'bloodshed' if the country's electoral system continues on its current path."

Immediately after holding a shotgun Cawthorn said, "I will tell you, as much as I am willing to defend our liberty at all costs, there is nothing that I would dread doing more than having to pick up arms against a fellow American. And the way that we can have recourse against that is if we all passionately demand that we have election security in all 50 states."

After urging President Joe Biden's Cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment, Cawthorn promised, “I will remove Joe Biden from office, and then, when Kamala Harris inevitably screws up, we will take them down, one at a time."..........................................

Florida changed its COVID-19 data, creating an 'artificial decline' in recent deaths

Source: Miami Herald

August 31, 2021 10:12 AM

As the delta variant spreads through Florida, data published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention suggest this could be the most serious and deadly surge in COVID-19 infections since the beginning of the pandemic.

As cases ballooned in August, however, the Florida Department of Health changed the way it reported death data to the CDC, giving the appearance of a pandemic in decline, an analysis of Florida data by the Miami Herald and el Nuevo Herald found.

On Monday, Florida death data would have shown an average of 262 daily deaths reported to the CDC over the previous week had the health department used its former reporting system, the Herald analysis showed. Instead, the Monday update from Florida showed just 46 “new deaths” per day over the previous seven days.

The dramatic difference is due to a small change in the fine print. Until three weeks ago, data collected by DOH and published on the CDC website counted deaths by the date they were recorded — a common method for producing daily stats used by most states. On Aug. 10, Florida switched its methodology and, along with just a handful of other states, began to tally new deaths by the date the person died.

If you chart deaths by Florida’s new method, based on date of death, it will generally appear — even during a spike like the present — that deaths are on a recent downslope. That’s because it takes time for deaths to be evaluated and death certificates processed. When those deaths finally are tallied, they are assigned to the actual data of death — creating a spike where there once existed a downslope and moving the downslope forward in time.

Shivani Patel, a social epidemiologist and assistant professor at Emory University called the move “extremely problematic,” especially since it came without warning or explanation during a rise in cases....................................................................................

COVID-19 Deaths reporting delays can distort trends for weeks

It often takes weeks after someone dies of COVID-19 for that death certificate to be processed and reflected in death data published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. As a result, deaths reported by date of death will initially appear to decline, even if more people are dying each day, because data are incomplete.

Madison Cawthorn Fantasizes About Busting Out Jan. 6 'Political Hostages'

Source: daily beast

‘BUST THEM OUT’

The far-right congressman said he was “actively working” on calling for MAGA supporters to descend on D.C. again, suggesting another Jan. 6-type rally.

Updated Aug. 30, 2021 5:57PM ET / Published Aug. 30, 2021 4:56PM ET

MAGA-boosting Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC) seemingly proposed another “Stop the Steal”-type rally in D.C. this week while sympathizing with the “political hostages” that were arrested and charged for participating in the violent Jan. 6 Capitol riots.

.................................
.............................

Speaking at a North Carolina GOP event on Sunday evening, Cawthorn—a featured speaker at the rally that preceded the Jan. 6 violence—was asked by one attendee what he was doing to free the hundreds of rioters currently facing criminal charges.

“Political hostages,” Cawthorn shouted to applause in a viral video posted to Twitter by a Democratic congressional staffer. “So this is something that we are trying to figure everything out about.”

After saying that his office is “seeking answers” from federal investigators, the Republican lawmaker claimed they “don’t know where all the political prisoners are” before pondering about how to release them.

“And so, if we were actually to be able to go and try to bust them out—,” he exclaimed before quickly pivoting. “Let me tell you, the reason why they’re taking these political prisoners is they’re trying to make an example. Because they don’t want to see the mass protests going on in Washington.”.................................

WATCH: Howard Dean: Ron DeSantis is Even More Insane Than Trump
....................................

Governors in red states had tried their best to emulate Trump by fighting any kind of COVID mitigation. And Ron DeSantis has fought harder than any others. This has resulted in Florida becoming the epicenter of COVID-19.

Howard Dean, once the governor of Vermont doesn’t much care for DeSantis. In fact, he says the Florida governor is even more insane that Donald Trump.

Dean made the comments during a Friday appearance on Ari Melber’s MSNBC show. He told the host:

“Well, I am shocked by DeSantis. I never thought I would say this but I think he may be more of a lunatic than Trump ever was. Trump finally come around thinking the best thing he can do for his supporters is get them vaccinated. And DeSantis is completely out of touch with reality. I am not sure what he could possibly be thinking now when you got more than half the population that’s in school districts refusing to comply, long before the court said it was okay, more than half of the people in Florida’s school districts said no. We don’t care, shut up and go away. This guy is not – if you are the governor, you can’t do that.”

Dean continued, “this guy is putting their children’s lives at risk. We’re going to have dead kids all over Florida in these districts that are following DeSantis. It is outrageous. I have never seen any governor of either party ever behave like this. It’s almost as if he doesn’t give a damn who has to die as long as he gets reelected.”

Fried says DeSantis must request $820M in child food aid | Miami Herald

Updated August 27, 2021 02:47 AM

Child hunger groups and Florida’s top elected Democrat urged Gov. Ron DeSantis on Thursday to tap into $820 million in federal aid money that would provide meals for more than 2 million children in low-income households.

Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried said it was “unconscionable” that DeSantis’ administration hasn’t requested the money, which has no strings attached. All the state has to do is ask, Fried said.

“Every day that this aid is delayed is another night where a child would go to bed hungry that could have been prevented,” said Fried, a Democrat looking to challenge DeSantis’ reelection next year. “The people of Florida can’t afford the governor leaving money on the table...................................

Dogma over the health and benefit of Floridian children as well as the health and benefits of businesses in Florida since those funds would also would have also brought additional sales of agricultural and food products from producers and supermarkets in Florida.
Also would have brought sales taxes as money from the poor not spend in food would have been spent in other taxable items
DeSantis is an idiot....Can we recall DeSantis?
