No Vested Interest's JournalGive it time. We never know what others are going through...
My daughter, born a leftie, taught herself to write with her right hand.
Likely she, being a sensitive type, felt more comfortable writing as the majority in her classes.
She went to public school for kindergarten and first grade, then to a school where she was taught by nuns, second through high school. She was not hit or scolded by any of her teachers, nuns or secular - late 60's and 70's - for this or any other actions.
Forty years later she had a left hemispheric stroke, leaving her right hand unable to write or grasp anything.
So now she is back to where nature intended her to be - a leftie once again.
Sing songs that are familiar and upbeat and that you know and like.
Any songs with their names in it:
I sang "Little Annie Rooney", "Mary is a grand old name", "Charlie my Boy", and "Peter Cottontail" to my brood.
George M. Cohan songs are great - "You're a Grand Old Flag", "Give My Regards to Broadway".
How about "Hard-hearted Hannah" - my father used to sing that one and I loved it.
"Bicycle built for two".
Have fun!!
I think Vivek mentioned in the debate Wed. evening that "When his mother took
her citizenship exam....".
So his mother is likely a US citizen. Father not mentioned in that regard, as I recall...
Photos of the church after the fire are readily available via Google, etc.
(I am not sufficiently sophisticated re the internet to reproduce the photos and videos.)
The Maria Lanakila Church, a Catholic parish in Lahaina, was also spared amid ruins
of its adjoining preschool, convent, parish hall and neighborhood. Even the flowers at the altar were unwilted.
I don't know the details of the church's construction, as compared to the Miracle House, but perhaps the church was also constructed of materials impervious to the conflagration.
Please pray for residents of Maui, Hawaii who have lost lives, homes, businesses, etc.
The list of those killed has grown; even items of their historical native heritage have been lost.
