No Vested Interest
No Vested Interest's JournalCooper was playing the provocateur; his job is to keep the discussion interesting
and moving along.
He is paid a huge salary for doing this.
Assuming Gingrich was validly baptized in the Christian faith, all other things being valid,
his first marriage would have been valid.
First wife died; therefore he was no longer married and was free to remarry.
Second marriage was not valid, for reasons I don't recall - I think it had to with second wife's marriage status.
Marriage not valid; therefore there never was a marriage; annulment= no marriage.
Marriage to Callista, whom I believe had never been married.
Assumption is made that both Newt and Callista confessed past sins and were contrite and sins were forgiven, as proscribed by Christ's words, "Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them; whose sins you shall retain, they are retained." John 20:23.
Therefore, Pope Francis will accept the ambassadorial credentials of Callista Gingrich.
One would think the US military would have "None" as a choice.
Wouldn't that be accurate for those that have no religious affiliation?
Maybe not in 1965, but in 2017?
Exactly. He likely doesn't know the difference between an original and a copy.
Hope he paid big dough for his fake.
Newt could be the EWTN correspondent in the Vatican.
Whatever he does, I doubt that he'll become "Silent Newt".
He can't keep himself from spouting off his opinions; it's part of his nature.
About half, including Schumer, Manchin, McCaskill, several of the female Dem. Senators.
A full list should be available online soon.
I am not aware of Callista Gingrich's qualifications for the office of ambassador,
but I believe she can't do too much damage there.I'm wondering if her husband Newt will accompany her to her mission, and, if so, is that a good thing or a bad thing.
It may be a good thing to have him out of the way and off the networks, and I doubt he can do much damage, though I may be wrong and he might be a trouble-maker.
I'm not concerned, as some people are, that Callista's and Newt's relationship occurred while Newt was still married to his second wife, because, after all, we do believe in forgiveness and redemption of sinners, now don't we?
Perhaps something good will come of this turn of events.
Callista Gingrich confirmed as US Ambassador to the Vatican. (As seen on C-Span)
By a vote of 70-23, Callista Gingrich was confirmed by the US Senate as the next US Ambassador to the Vatican.
A number of Democratic Senators voted with Republicans in the affirmative.
The 60s are very good years.
Usually the body is still well enough to see and do many things one didn't have the time to do when working hard and/or caring for the day-to-day needs of a family.
Look forward to and during your 60s.
You've got a lot of living to do; see it all; do it all.
Best wishes.
