Cheney--His Heart Goes On

http://www.theeagleonline.com/article/2014/03/dick-cheney-denies-war-criminal-allegations-at-kpu-event

Former Vice President Dick Cheney refuted accusations that he is a war criminal during his speech to students and members of the AU community in Bender Arena on March 28. The Kennedy Political Union hosted Cheney as part of a stream of speakers coming to campus.

“The accusations are not true,” Cheney said.

I would suggest that if you reach a place in life when you have to deny out loud to an audience you are not a war criminal.

You are.

Imagine if the Baggers and the Fox Network Zombies Slap These Babies On

http://www.slate.com/articles/technology/future_tense/2014/03/oculus_rift_facebook_thinks_virtual_reality_is_the_new_smartphone.html?wpisrc=hpsponsoredd2

By feeling truly present, you can share unbounded spaces and experiences with people in your life,” the Facebook CEO added in a conference call explaining the $2 billion deal. “Imagine sharing not just moments with your friends online, but entire experiences and adventures.”

Maybe if the tea-terrorists are left to their virtual world they would keep their pro-war, discriminatory, one percent favored, anti-health care, anti-women, pro-business, ayn rand cheering, theocratic views to themselves.

Rock and Roll Question for the Community

If Aliens arrived here and asked only one question, "Can you give me one song that best typifies Rock and Roll Music?"

What song would you choose?

I came up with the Stones (I can't get no) Satisfaction.

Your thoughts?

Welfare and the Yacht

Wealthy couple with yacht and $3 million in the bank got more than $167,000 in welfare benefits
Authorities said Andrea and Colin Chisholm misled benefit workers for years as they cashed more than $167,000 in welfare checks for food, medical bills, and job training between 2005 and 2012.

They had received benefits from Minnesota agencies while living for two years in Florida, reported the Minnesota Star Tribune, where they also obtained welfare benefits.

Have you ever?

Typed a post, did your due dilligence, did spell check, added a smiley and come back later to see if you have any responses--when you discover you forgot to post it.

I better check under my couch for forgotten letters.

Fox idiot encourages young people not to sign up for ACA

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2014/03/23/fox-host-encourages-young-people-to-take-the-penalty-instead-of-signing-up-for-obamacare/

On Saturday’s episode of Cashin’ In, Fox News host Eric Bolling encouraged young Americans to “take the penalty” they’ll have to pay if they don’t sign up for the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

I think, given this advice, Bolling should have run his credit card number along the crawl so that young people, when they have medical emergency (car accident, appendectomy, turkey fryer explosion), would have means to pay the bill.

Obama Derangement Syndrome In Full Bloom

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2014/03/21/republicans-in-full-anti-obama-frenzy-take-a-swipe-at-national-parks/

Responding to President Obama’s decision last week to protect a stretch of California’s Coast near Point Arena as a new national monument, the House of Representatives is planning to vote next week to overturn a 108 year-old law that presidents of both parties have used to protect iconic American places, including the Grand Canyon, the Statue of Liberty, and Arches National Park.
The bill, H.R. 1459, aims to block presidents from using the Antiquities Act of 1906 to establish new national monuments by putting caps on how many times it can be used, requiring congressional review of proposed monuments, and forcing local communities to engage in an ironic exercise of reviewing the environmental impacts of protecting lands for future generations.
Until the passage of a bill to protect wilderness lands in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore last week, Congress had not protected a single new acre of public lands since 2009, the longest such drought since World War II. Adding injury to insult, Congress also forced a 16-day government shutdown last fall that cost national parks and local communities 8 million lost visitors and $414 million in lost visitor spending.

This bill has no chance of passing, but continues to indicate the extent to which the baggers would "destroy the village" in order to damage Obama.

Chuck Todd Squawks About Breaking News Abuse

http://www.mediaite.com/tv/chuck-todd-jabs-at-cnn-again-breaking-news-abuse-hurts-all-of-us/

Two days after taking a thinly-veiled shot at CNN’s aggressive use of “breaking news” headlines for not-so-breaking bits of information about the missing Malaysia Airlines MH370, MSNBC anchor Chuck Todd is back again with some scolding words for his rival network.

Hey Chuck Toad here is an item which is not breaking news: You are a useful idiot and shill for the rethugs who deliberately replaces thoughtful commentary with right-wing propaganda.

Putin on the Ritz

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/wall-street-executive-thanks-putin-ukraine

On the national level, the shift away from a focus on income inequality and reining in Wall Street stems both from the economy, which is slowly improving, and the dominant issue of the day, which is now the crisis in Ukraine.
The aggressive actions of Russian President Vladimir Putin have eased the anxieties of Wall Streeters sick of being portrayed as the enemy. “We obviously see other things driving the news cycle,” a top industry executive said. “Ukraine keeps the focus off the evil 1 percent, so I guess we have Putin to thank for that. The improving economy helps as well.”

These guys probably sit around waiting for another Tsunami or Chernobyl to further take the "heat" off themselves.
