Measle Increases in the United States

Bundy is No Welfare Queen--He is plain old thief

"You are writing off a whole class of people, African-Americans, as sort of dangerously dependent because they get government assistance," Weir stated. "At the same time, you’re grazing your cows on public land for free. So, how are you not sort of a welfare queen in a cowboy hat?"

Weir's analogy is deeply unfair to people on welfare in so many ways, starting with the myth that people on welfare are defrauding the government in the same way that Bundy is doing.

The author is right on target. Bundy is a thief, con man, racist grifter. Nothing more.

Easter Egg Hunt, Market Forces, and Guvmint Regulation

My experience of Easter Egg Hunts has been the big kids swoop in and garner most of the eggs. I suppose that would be letting the market decide who gets what. Prior to the hunt my granddaughter was in today though instructions were given that no child could gather more than 6 eggs. That would be government regulation of unfettered capitalism. The result was no small kids getting trampled, no crying small children, and even some sharing of eggs at the end for kids who came up a little short.

Dang parents, they got no business picking winners and losers of the Easter Egg Hunt. Those parents just discouraged future job creators.
