IrishAyes
IrishAyes's JournalThere used to be a website where you could list your name and get a personalized video
of a long Glenn Beck rant blaming you personally for every imaginary evil in the world. I lost mine when my old computer crashed. If anyone knows where that site is, if it still exists, I'd love to make another copy.
I sneaked on his website one time and wrote a pro-Obama post. Somehow it stayed up around an hour or so before discovery and deletion. But then I started to get vicious emails from him that didn't stop until I threatened legal action.
That's what men used to say about women a hundred years ago to escape charges of misogyny:
That they fairly worshipped us, put us on a pedestal, considered us the better sex even; but nobody could convince them we were fit to vote.
A hundred years ago and earlier, most of society considered it impossible for women to excel at more than one function. If she developed her intellect at all, her parenting and wifely skills were bound to suffer for it. That was society's excuse for keeping her subservient. Even some of the female leaders in women's and worker's rights were against female suffrage as "unnatural".
Sounds good to me!
Some people think that since my reproductive years are long past, I shouldn't be concerned about this issue, but it's the right thing to do and better for everyone all around, now and later. Hopefully the young girls of today will grow up in a much better and therefore more productive environment.
Well, the wingers like to call this a failure and that we'll never succeed;
If it were left up to them and their obstructionism, we wouldn't. But we beat them before to enact the law, and by all that's holy we'll get this up and running, too. Reports of our demise are way premature.
Perfect!
I used to tell people with the straightest face that I truly adore men but I'm just not quite sure they should be allowed to vote. Most people didn't know the historical background of that statement and were offended, but the ones who knew found it funny.
Sounds good. Did you have sawdust in the bottom, and if so how much?
And how did you prevent cold outside air from entering the vent pipe and freezing the user? If I can rig something like you did, it would save me a ton of $ I can't really afford. Recently I've been researching tiny house designs since my homeowner insurance would never begin to rebuild this house. I notice a lot of those people recommend sawdust toilets. Doesn't seem right for people in financial straits to have to go without.
I'm trying to make this as simple as possible so you and the others can understand;
If I say I have the red hair of many Irish, I'm not saying that no one else has red hair, especially not that they might even be bald.
In short, your reasoning is as full of holes as Swiss cheese. You're manufacturing error where none exists. But it's especially despicable when you feel free to make Nazi references. Well, that's what bullies do, isn't it? Telling.
Now I'm more than fed up with the vulture attitudes of so many on this thread, so I'm not answering any more of you. After all, as dear old dad loved to say, only a jackass answers every donkey that brays.
I believe callmecrazy was the one specifically claiming lack of American originality or uniqueness.
The rest of it that you and many of the others are projecting onto the OP is coming straight out of your warped brains.
Well, quite frankly, when I'm set upon by a swarm of bees, I start swatting!
As I advise others to do. You guys brought this fight to us, not the other way around, so you don't get to complain about having your knuckles rapped. You're whining, "Mama! She hit me back!"
BB tried to reason with you guys far more patiently than I would have - or did. But I have no patience with bullies, which is exactly what a lot of respondents turned out to be. Forgive me if I don't quail when you rail.
groannnnn....
You have no idea how much I love living alone in a big old house, even a 'fixer', with plenty of room between the neighbors. And it's not just for love of gardening either. Maybe I'm one of those cranks who loves humanity but can't stand people - at least not living elbow to elbow. I whine and complain about what I had to give up for this and what I have to endure for it - but it was a conscious, deliberate choice, not some weird fluke of circumstance. Maybe it's partly my current stage of life; when I was young, I lived in NY and LA and other megacities and loved it. Now I thrive on silence. The only reason I live in any kind of town at all is because the world's too dangerous a place now for me to be alone out in the middle of nowhere. Sometimes I get a wild urge to visit a real city again, but I go and lie down until it passes.
