I'm sure your Mom was on to something there.

It's a study in sociopathy, that's for sure. "I'm being robbed blind and I know who's doing it, but they're so rich and powerful that everybody worships them so maybe if I do too, some of the status will rub off on me. After all, there's nothing lower than a godless Democrat, and if I starve to death in the dark, at least I'll still be better than them."

I should've taken videos

Imagine the sight of that big yellow headless chicken with MUTT written across it's belly in big red letters, hanging by its feet from my 4'x5' painted wooden Democrat sign. And Molly Maguire was never so joyous as when she ran up and down the front yard in front of God and everybody, wagging her tail and constantly chomping down so Mutt would wail. Sorry to repeat myself[/b , but the joy has never faded for me either.

Since I made the Democrat sign to last many years, I guess in 2016 I'll have to buy another of those $20 rubber chickens and name it whatever. Or I might have to splurge on two, since the JRT Brigid has thrown in with us. We're a baaaaaad influence.

While I appreciate the other reply (as well as yours)

I still don't know what will happen if the computer's hard drive gets too full and I'm unable to reload the files I actually want.

Will I get a chance to choose where the backup files are downloaded? I do have an external hard drive that I could plug in temporarily. This was a whole system backup in case my reinstallation of Win7 failed. And since I'm happy with the new, slimmer reinstallation, I wouldn't mind doing a different whole system backup on the thumb drive to replace the first one.

Does it show that I've never done this before?

(sigh...)

I suppose you'll expect me to look up references for you, but considering your perceived attitude, I might decide to leave that little chore to you if you're so damned sure I'm wrong.

But I live in a farming community and therefore get a lot of agribusiness media input enough to know what's going on. Robotic mechanization is real and increasing by giant agribusinesses which bear no resemblance to what most people think of as 'farming'. If I feel like looking it up for you someday, maybe I will. Until then, don't necessarily sneer at what you don't know.

Or do you still imagine horse-drawn farming implements? Only on Amish farms, dear city child.

Before reinstalling Win7 on my computer

I made a complete backup on a 16G thumb drive.

Question: If I instruct the thumb drive to re-install the files, what will happen to the newer files sitting on my hard drive since the reinstallation? Will they be overwritten? Will all my space be clogged up on the hard drive now? I'd imagined that when I inserted the thumb drive with the entire backup of the original hard drive stuff, I'd be able to just click and open any files from the thumb drive instead of reinstalling them, specifically to the hard drive.

Would reinstalling that backup from the thumb drive alter the settings currently on the hard drive?

IS THERE A WAY to view the files on the thumb drive w/o reinstalling them to the hard drive?

I know one of the guys who was at My Lai

and he still defends that massacre. Of course we don't speak anymore.

Maybe I'm too lowbrow

But they suit me fine.

One reason I loved the tv show Frasier was because the puns flew fast and furious. It was one of the few shows that could actually make me laugh out loud. Of course there were also the funny lines between the lines, as when Roz rhapsodized about her date with a Frenchman and Frazier sympathized: "So it finally happened, then... no American men left."

A nonexistent problem between us? or

a nonexistent problem for Izzy?

If you feel the problem's nonexistent for this sick little girl, then I can assure you there's a genuine problem between myself and anyone who doesn't care about her plight. You've been extremely unclear and ambiguous.

If I had a dime

for every time I heard the sanctimonious screed, "Poor people have poor ways," I'd be rich!

And what about the Rethugs who fight access to that very family planning

tooth, nail, and claw so they can assure themselves a permanent supply of economic slaves? THAT's the problem!

About IrishAyes

Still an ardent Irish-American Catholic damnYankee Yellow Dog Democrat socialist after all these years. (cue Simon music) Army brat and wife for many years, now have been on the loose far longer than I was married. After my two red chows died, I took in a mini-beagle cross that I named Molly Maguire, thinking she might need a good Irish name like my original real one. Later she got a baby sister, a smooth-coat JRT I named Brigid after the greatest of the ancient Celtic goddesses. My great-grandfather and his son fought for Michael Collins and barely made it out of Ireland one step ahead of John Bull. They slipped over to Wales for new identities and then forward to the States for a fresh start. That makes me second generation of illegal but certainly justified immigrants. There are precious few people to whose defense I fly immediately, but the list includes Hillary Clinton, President Barack Obama even when I disagree with him - it happens! - and living Irish patriots Gerry Adams and Martin \\\'Mind Your Kneecaps\\\' McGuiness. I pray earnestly for a united and free Ireland rescued from all official British occupation, with every square inch of alleged \\\'ancestral lands\\\' now held immorally and illegally by the invaders returned to the rightful owners. Irish-only rule for Ireland. No foreign masters anymore! I find it passing strange when Brits chide ME about \'interfering\' in Irish politics!
