IrishAyes's JournalIt's impossible to ignore when anyone mentions John DeLancie,
don't you know that? Outside his fan circle, I don't think the man gets the respect he deserves.
Reminds me of Pat Robertson(?) complaining about one of the TeleTubbies.
Nothing much in the world scares me as much as the fundies. Totally dangerous.
That's about the best horse picture I've ever seen.
Basically I wish health and happiness to everyone. For myself, I'd love to finish fixing my house in time to enjoy it that way for a long, long time. Then it goes to charity when I no longer need it... when I slip my surly bonds and so forth. Other than that, I'm amazed at how much less it takes to content me than even a few years ago. I still pine after Liam Neeson now and then, but otherwise.... so long as I can stay out of the hospital or nursing home or jail or debt and I have a secure roof over my head with enough to eat and read and people to talk to when I want, and my dogs are well and happy, the rest can wait. I do admit to having finally bought an Amanna dishwasher earlier this month, and then a nice Frigidaire stove a few days ago... both on terrific sale, of course.
As wise counselors are prone to tell budding techies these days,
"Don't worry about what kids call you today. In a few years they'll be calling you Boss."
Still, I understand what you're saying. Sometimes a thought pops into my head from over half a century ago, and I wonder, where did that come from? Unfinished business, I guess. But I know one thing, I'm actually happier in my late 60's than I was as a youngster. Or more confident or patient. Or something, can't be sure what. It's just better, that's all.
When I finally at long last DO get Netflix,
I plan to pig out on Lost. Loved that show so much. Big Emmerson fan. Sometimes it concerns me how I could be so riveted by Ben, but there it is. Maybe I've never completely given up Bad Boys.
I love foreign movies; often prefer them.
After all these years I'm still a Fellini freak.
Well, I've got a green thumb, and I could overwinter them; but right now I can't afford to.
I bought one of those; never thought about putting it on a cast iron pan though.
I don't have a woodstove, just a dual fuel floor heater that will take care of the whole house if I need it to. The iron pan would make the eco fan kick on sooner, wouldn't it? Thanks!
My single belated contribution to the list:
Keep a dog or two and then you'll never have leftover food to waste, and you'll always have a pressing need for plastic bags if you keep a tidy, hygienic yard. I used to have a Doggy Doolie but the JRT loves to dig too much. On the other hand, no moles or rabbits either.
There's nowhere here to buy bulk shelled peanuts
But I plan to grow the giant, heirloom African kind this spring. The plants are beautiful too.
