Gander Crash 16Dec83

I remember this. One of the major newspaper had a front page black and white drawing. With the 101st patch with a tear.

A lot of the single guys gave up their seats. It was the first flight home and they gave them to the ones with families.

Arrow Air Flight 1285R was a McDonnell Douglas DC-8 jetliner that operated as an international charter flight carrying U.S. troops from Cairo, Egypt, to their home base in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, via Cologne, West Germany, and Gander, Newfoundland.

On the morning of Thursday, 12 December 1985, shortly after takeoff from Gander en route to Fort Campbell, the aircraft stalled, crashed, and burned about half a mile from the runway, killing all 248 passengers and 8 crew members on board.

Afghanistan is more than a Trump set up

I see that posted a lot.

It was the DOD who has been lying for multiple administrations. Both R and D’s

The military has said for many years that the Afghan Army could stand on its on. It collapsed in two weeks.

And once again we have servicemen and women dying, trying to help people. Saving them from the people who will line them up in the soccer stadium again.

That’s who to blame. They’ve been doing this since before Trump or President Biden

CSM Kenneth "Rock" Merritt

From the 18th Airborne Corp.

Today, let's honor a Legend.

Many of you reached out to ask for a copy of the emotional eulogy Lt. General Erik Kurilla delivered yesterday in honor of Rock Merritt.

We created this video for the world to tell his story.

Please share this video widely.
https://m.

For those who are not familiar with LTG Kurilla. He’s the guy who got shot in the leg and arm fighting in the streets as an Infantry Lieutenant Colonel.

The remains of Father Emil Kapaun, a Kansas native and Catholic priest who died while a prisoner of war, have been identified by military officials.
