Trump "looking at" replacing TSA guards who wear "hibby jobbies" with Veterans

Visiting New Hampshire to again bash free-trade deals as job killers, Donald Trump conducted a brief town hall Thursday in which he defended Israel and said he would look into a woman's suggestion that airport security screeners be replaced with veterans.

The woman protested Transportation Security Administration guards who wear "hibby jobbies" at airports — an apparent reference to Muslims — as she asked the Republican presidential candidate to have veterans do TSA jobs.

"We're looking at that," Trump said during the appearance in Manchester, N.H. "We're looking at a lot of things."

Trump has vowed to tighten the nation's borders, in part to stop "radical Islamic extremists" from entering.

Caitlyn Jenner Praises Trump On Women, LGBT Issues In Latest WTF Of The Week

Caitlyn Jenner Praises Trump On Women, LGBT Issues In Latest WTF Of The Week

“I’m on the conservative Republican side,” she said when asked about issues facing the transgender community. “I’m not excited with what Obama has done to the economy, to our Constitution, all that kind of stuff. But as far as the transgender community, they’ve actually been very good.”

“Everybody looks at the Democrats as being better with these issues,” she added. “But Trump seems to be very much for women. He seems very much behind the LGBT community because of what happened in North Carolina with the bathroom issue. He backed the LGBT community. But in Trump’s case, there’s a lot more unknowns. With Hillary, you pretty much know what you’re gonna get with the LGBT community.”

Um ... what?! Trump has time and again insulted, belittled, sexualized and stereotyped women. And his record on queer rights, while less well documented, is also abysmal and includes a promise to consider appointing judges to overturn SCOTUS’ marriage equality ruling and a recent meeting with 400 of the country’s most anti-LGBT conservative Christians. And while he originally criticized North Carolina’s anti-queer HB2 law, he shifted his position a day later and said that states should have the right to do what they want.

Trump: If GOP rivals don't endorse him, they should never be allowed to run for public office again

BANGOR, Maine — No peace 'til Cleveland? Just when some thought the infighting was over, Donald Trump once again is taking on former Republican rivals and traditionally conservative allies.

The GOP presumptive nominee, less than three weeks from the party's convention, told a crowd on Wednesday that he isn't happy that some of his former rivals aren't endorsing him — and the way he sees it, there should be consequences.

Without naming specific politicians, Trump called those 2016 candidates who have yet to endorse him in accordance with the RNC pledge "sore losers" who "should never be allowed to run for public office again." Among those names yet to officially and explicitly endorse Trump are Ohio Gov. John Kasich, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker. Names that could, come next election cycle, be back in play once again.

For his part, Trump says he "would have honored the pledge" if the roles were reversed. "I wouldn't have gone crazy, I wouldn't have had 'Let's yell it from the loudest building,' but you know what, I would have honored the pledge."

BWAHAHA! Yertle the Turtle uses the "P" word.

In an interview with Washington, D.C. bureau reporter Geoff Bennett, McConnell said Trump is not yet a credible presidential candidate.

Sen. Mitch McConnell: "Trump clearly needs to change, in my opinion, to win the general election. What I’ve said to him both publicly and privately: 'You’re a great entertainer. You turn on audiences. You’re good before a crowd. You have a lot of Twitter followers. That worked fine for you in the primaries. But now that you are in the general, people are looking for a level of seriousness that is typically conveyed by having a prepared text and Teleprompter and staying on message.' So my hope is that he is beginning to pivot and become what I would call a more serious and credible candidate for the highest office in the land."

Geoff Bennett: "At the moment, though, I hear you saying he does not meet that threshold of credibility?"

McConnell: "He’s getting closer. Getting closer."

Yes, it's still 2016: R.I.P. Rob Wasserman, bassist and frequent Bob Weir collaborator

I'm devastated to pass along that Rob Wasserman lost his struggle today, and we have lost a beautiful friend and artist. I can still hear the sound of his bow playing those strings unamplified and pure. It's one of the most glorious sounds I've ever heard, and the music and warmth he gave us will live on in the hearts of everyone he touched.

Trump Surrogate Taunts Elizabeth Warren Like A Racist Fifth-Grader

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/donald-trump-elizabeth-warren-native-american_us_57742937e4b042fba1cf0305?section=

“You know Elizabeth Warren, right? Woo woo woo,” he said, making a noise while patting his hand over his mouth.

Why the campaign doesn’t think things like this are racist, we don’t know.

The "don't keep fighting the Primary" rule

I just got a jury request over the article "Bernie Sanders: Democrats need to wake up after Brexit."

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/bernie-sanders-democrats-need-to-wake-up-after-brexit/

There is nowhere in the article that Sanders is "campaigning."

He's not "bashing Democrats," either, although the "broken rule" cited in the alert was "don't keep fighting the Primary."

There's still a "more civil" level of Sanders bashing going on here...one thread is from the WaPo about his "absolutely condescending" response to Andrea Mitchell regarding a Clinton endorsement. What he said was that it's not about his personal endorsement, it's about his supporters feeling that Clinton best represents what they are looking for in a candidate. The WaPo author quoted him and then wrote "if you read between the lines, what he is saying is..." which is total nonsense and conjecture, and yet it's providing a forum for Clinton supporters to chip away at Sanders...and they are doing just that.

I've kept a pretty low profile here since the "new rules," posting mostly Trump posts and nothing about Clinton or Sanders.

But the WaPo article is more Op/Ed than "news," weighted against Sanders, and the CBS article is not about Sanders continuing to fight for the nomination.

I understand that there are Clinton supporters who would like to completely silence any discussion of Sanders, but you and I have already had this conversation. I am assuming that what I've posted here is in accordance with the new rules, unless you tell me otherwise. Thanks.

Waitress told to wear skirt & makeup to be "easy on the eye" wins discrimination suit

GLASGOW, Scotland — A teenage waitress who was told to wear a skirt and makeup so she would be "easy on the eye" for customers won her sex discrimination claim.

Erin Sandilands, 18, was taken aside by a manager at Cecchini's bistro in the Scottish port town of Ardrossan and told to look more feminine "for the punters," or restaurant patrons.

After she complained, the student — who was working on call as needed — was later told that her services were no longer needed, despite having previously been offered a full-time position.

Sandilands was awarded £3,500, or $4,732, for the injury to her feelings and lost wages after a judge at an industrial tribunal — which according to a United Kingdom government website, "makes decisions in legal disputes around employment law" — found her evidence to be "entirely credible"
