Candace Owens is a grifting hate machine, and I have a friend who hangs on her every word.

I'm posting this because of her reaction to Jack Dorsey stepping down from Twitter, which I'm not going to post here, because it's "Republican talking points" and I'm not going to give her any more oxygen than she already has.

...but I have a friend who is a Republican, and if you extract politics, one of the best friends I've ever had. 100% stand-up guy, was extraordinarily kind and generous to me when I was going through one of the toughest times of my life, but I'd have the same take on him if he'd never actually done anything for me. And, sadly, he's 100% into anti-lib rhetoric, and he knows I am not tethered to any politician or ideology, but also that I consider McConnnell, Meadows, McCarthy, Jordan, Gohmert, Nunes, Boebert, Greene, Cawthorn, Hawley and every Republican of their ilk to be a pox on humanity. That makes for some interesting exchanges on Facebook.

I guess what I'm saying is that if we had a Democratic equivalent of Owens, Hannity, Carlson, Pirro, Bartoromo...someone whose sole purpose was to keep me hateful and resentful and angry 24/7, I'd go "fuck that." It wouldn't matter how "blue" they were. If their sole purpose were to push my buttons, we have too many other brilliant minds to turn to.

I guess some people just like being angry, having a "villain" in front of them, even if they have to make all of the details up as they go along.

Trump's tone & demeanor in his OAN Ashli Babbitt MAGAt martyr vid matches his steak commercials

I'm not gonna post it here. You've probably seen it, if you haven't, it's easy enough to find. What I can tell you is:

1). Babbitt wasn't a "patriot" or a "martyr," she was a domestic terrorist whose luck ran out

2). The emotion, presence, vibe, demeanor of Trump in the vid is identical to the ads he did for his steaks on Sharper Image...in short, it's one more transactional moment for Trump, and in death, Babbitt became his useful idiot.

I'm reading Rolling Stone's account of Trump's Iowa MAGAt rally and can't even pretend to "get" it.

Maybe it's no more complex than the MAGAts being a cult, and Trump being Jim Jones.

It's all lies, and they clap like trained seals.

Aaron Rupar is still a hero on Twitter, because he watches these shit shows and chops them up into sound bites for people who can't handle watching the whole thing, but I can no longer take even a few seconds' worth of the sound of Trump's voice. He's still doing that sing-song hissy fadeout on words he wants to emphasize, he's still playing the invisible accordion and doing the tiny jazz hands moves. In short, NOTHING HAS CHANGED, it's only gotten worse, because now he doesn't have to pretend to be president, he just needs to go out and air his grievances and seek revenge as the MAGAts cheer him on.

As a former Californian, I felt that voters would take out the trash

I've learned to not count my chickens, but no...I didn't believe "conservative talk show host" Larry Elder was going to be the next Governor.

His "platform" was a promise to basically be Trump / McConnell...especially when he publicly salivated, McConnell-style, over replacing Feinstein with a Republican to restore their Senate majority.

He was the embodiment of Trumps musings about whether he could get away with "not helping the blue states" with COVID.

He's been caught on record as saying it's all an act to "trigger the libs."

California is not perfect...that's why I left in 2012, mainly being priced out of existence, but there were a few other reasons as well.

BUT...no matter WHAT challenges the state is facing right now, I instinctively knew they would not turn to Elder for the answers.

Way to go, CA voters. This former resident is proud of you.

I can't believe this toxic little shit thinks he's flying under the radar when he writes fatwas for Trump. The style is unmistakable. NO "all caps," complete sentences, no spelling errors, and white supremacist cockiness. It's Miller.
