Mississippi state legislature approves anti-gay bill that is worse than the AZ law. Call Governor.

In a stealth move, the legislature moved the bill out of committee and BOTH chambers (House and Senate) voted on SB2681 within 24 hours. This is from a state legislature that had to call a special session last summer to approve Medicaid funding for the state. These folks don't get in a hurry for anything - unless it involves hating on LGBT people.

SB2681 resurrected in the Mississippi state legislature

The Mississippi Religious Freedom Restoration Act[/link] has been resurrected in the form of a conference report in the state legislature tonight. The bill passed committee just before the 8PM deadline for filing. Despite the fact, that a watered down version of SB2681 failed to pass in the House two weeks ago, lawmakers in Mississippi are determined to push forward with this legislation.

God and guns

Pinelake is a mega church in Flowood (north of Jackson). This is not a backwoods country church. The congregation is composed of white, upper-middle class suburbanites and there were several thousand people in attendance that morning. The presence of one C&C in a worship service makes me wonder how many other pistols were in the sanctuary.
