Trump’s Pick To Head The NIH Called Autistic Kids ‘Brats’ Who Should ‘Cut The Act Out’

Donald Trump is not the smartest presidential candidate we’ve got, and that’s probably why he’s polling so well with the anti-intellectuals on the right. They like that he walks, talks, and acts like one of them, despite his billions of dollars. He’s made yet another idiotic move, though. He believes that appointing radical right-wing radio host, Michael Savage, to head the National Institutes of Health, would bring some much-needed “common sense” to the agency.

According to Media Matters for America, Savage believes that autism is one big lie. It’s a huge racket in the medical industry and essentially doesn’t exist. In 2008 he said:

I’ll tell you what autism is. In 99 percent of the cases, it’s a brat who hasn’t been told to cut the act out. That’s what autism is. What do you mean they scream and they’re silent? They don’t have a father around to tell them, ‘Don’t act like a moron. You’ll get nowhere in life. Stop acting like a putz. Straighten up. Act like a man. Don’t sit there crying and screaming, idiot.’

Following a massive backlash for that, ABC News reported that he doubled down on his offensive and ignorant remarks, saying:

My comments about autism were meant to boldly awaken parents and children to the medical community’s attempt to label too many children or adults as ‘autistic’ … Just as some drug companies have overdiagnosed ‘ADD’ and ‘ADHD’ to peddle dangerous speed-like drugs to children as young as 4 years ofage, this cartel of doctors and drug companies is now creating a national panic by overdiagnosing ‘autism,’ for which there is no definitive medical diagnosis!

Storm of paranoia and hate erupts in Florida town after photo shows Muslims praying at beach

A photo taken by a Florida county commissioner of a group of men observing their Muslim faith has ignited a racist backlash that spilled over into a recent government meeting, WTXL reports.

The photo was taken at Mashes Sands Beach in Wakulla County by county commission chairman Ralph Thomas and posted to his Facebook page with the caption, “Walked up on this at Mashes Sands this evening! First time seeing this in Wakulla County.” The photo has sparked an emotional storm that has included death threats.

“I’m raising the question of whether or not a group of military aged Muslim men… are praying on our beach, well label me whatever you want,” said Wakulla County Sheriff candidate Will Dance, according to WTXL. “The reason I brought this up is because my daughters use that beach, my wife uses that beach and gentlemen, under Sharia Law, the cutoff shorts and tee-shirts… that my family wears on that beach are considered offensive under Sharia and any Muslim man may carry out what he feels is fit punishment. And I’m sorry but that type of behavior cannot happen here.”

Muslim leader Imam Amro was interviewed by WTXL and assured people that in general, no Muslim would retaliate against anyone not wearing modest clothes because it’s none of their business.

Irving police chief admits: Cops knew Ahmed Mohamed didn’t have a bomb when they arrested him

Source: Raw Story

Irving Police Chief Larry Boyd refused to say on Thursday that his officers erred in arresting 14-year-old Ahmed Mohamed on Monday even though they allegedly knew he did not bring a bomb to his high school.

MSNBC host Chris Hayes gave Boyd the opportunity to admit to a mistake, while conceding that people understood that officers need to be on high alert regarding possible attacks against a school.

However, Hayes said, “I think it’s hard for folks watching this from the outside, seeing this all link up, seeing this kid — who seems like a tremendously poised, bright, genuine kid — be put through this. To not hear from anyone in officialdom down there that ‘Yeah, we didn’t get this one right.'”

“The officers made the decision they did with the information they had with what they thought was right at the time,” Boyd responded. “We are clearly going to review this. We want to always look at ways we can enhance and have a better outcome. There’s a lot of decision points, there’s a lot of alternatives that they have available to them.”
