C Moon's JournalRepublican voter mail
I just got a piece of political mail yesterday. I usually don't look at them, but this time I was curious.
It's from a Republican candidate in Southern California.
The front of the card has a blue box with bold white letters that reads:
I'm proud Democrat
Jerry Brown voted for my bill...
It almost reads like "I'm a proud Democrat"...I think they did that on purpose.
Below that it states he is an "Independent Republican"
At the bottom is a picture of Trump crossed off in red, and saying he IS NOT voting for Trump.
On the back it says he's fighting for middle class jobs.
And then there are a slew of other left-leaning topics.
This just may be the new Republican party: but once they get in office, they'll change their tune.
Sun is setting on California's Daylight Saving's Time...
Bill to end daylight saving time passes California committee
With little debate, a bill to end Californias observance of daylight saving time cleared its first committee on Monday.
Assembly Bill 385 could make California the third state not to observe daylight saving time, in addition to Hawaii and Arizona. If approved by a two-thirds majority of both houses of the Legislature and signed by Gov. Jerry Brown, it would put a measure on the ballot asking voters whether or not the state should eliminate the practice.

I applaud this (and actually wrote my senator and congressperson a couple years ago about stopping DST), but I hope they consider keeping the set time in the DST hours: I don't look forward to a 4:40am sunrise in June (DST makes it 5:40am).
The Trump Bucket :D
I'm definitely a pup person, but I do love cats...(for your Monday):
Especially when they have attitude like this (saw this making the rounds on Twitter, and it made me laugh):
Just renewed my Star Membership!
I actually left DU for a few of months because of the primaries. I would come back to check on the headlines (because I believe DU is THE BEST place for news), but I wasn't engaging any longerand I actually found it relieving because it was getting too stressful reading and getting involved in the posts.
I was a Bernie supporteralways loved him, and still do!and I didn't like the idea of signing the "primary agreement" before the candidate was actually chosen. So, I decided to leave until the primary was over.
During the DNC, I stood (I like standing very often when I watch tv) and watched the last night while Chelsea was speaking. I didn't like the video preamble before Hillary came out (I thought it was too Academy Awards and I was probably rolling my eyes), but after listening to Hillary's speech, I slowly came around. I think what finally got me was when she said "Okay I get it. You want to know who I am" (or something to that effect), and she gave a background on her life. It was enlightening.
Anyways, I'm happy to be back because I love DU, and I'm glad there's more cohesion here.
