Email from VoteVets says it all (I'm not a veteran, BTW):

The Senate just voted to acquit Traitor Trump. The impeachment trial is over.

House impeachment managers like Rep. Ted Lieu presented an incredibly strong case against Trump over the course of two days. Trump’s legal team presented a short and barely intelligible defense over just a few hours.

Why didn’t Trump’s lawyers take more time to present? Because they knew from the start that Republican Senators were never going to vote to convict. No matter what case the House impeachment managers laid out, no matter what evidence they were confronted with — because they are COWARDS.

They turned the other way on Trump’s violence both figuratively and literally — many Republicans refused to even watch the footage of the riots shown during the trial. Josh Hawley put his feet up and read other files instead. Rand Paul was doodling. Ted Cruz was openly working with Trump’s defense attorney’s even though he was supposed to be an “impartial juror.”

They are cowards who have betrayed the oath they took to defend the constitution. And even though the trial is over, we can promise you this: When these Republican Senators are up for reelection — no matter when they’re up again — VoteVets is coming for them. We’re coming for ALL of them...

The impeachment trial is over. This fight is anything but.

We have to continue working to hold Republican traitors accountable and to stop Trump’s treasonous agenda from getting any more oxygen.

One of my Democratic FB friends (whom I friended 10 years ago, and haven't heard from since), commented on a post—the post was about Trump's defense complaining about the whole procedure being unconstitutional.

So the complete post showed up on my homepage.
I've already seen two of this occurrences today with different people.

Like most of us here, I'm glad to see all of the FBI arrests from the riot.

But I am not getting my hopes too high:
I'm no lawyer, but after watching our politics for the past 20 years (and considering that the GOP appointed a huge amount of judges recently), I believe the sentences are going to be lenient because of their skin color.

Weather they claim a "Twinkie Defense" from the QAnon brainwashing, or whatever...
I don't expect—except for a few—any will do serious time.
