The Only Thing Up on Wall Street Is CEO Pay

Nothing can stop the rise in Wall Street CEO pay, not even poor performance.

Last week, the last of the nation’s six big banks, Bank of America and Citigroup, disclosed what they paid their CEOs for 2015. Both awarded their CEOs, Brian Moynihan of BofA BAC 0.66% , and Michael Corbat of Citi C -1.01% , a raise. Moynihan got a $3 million bump to $16 million, a 23% increase from the year before. And Corbat was paid $3.5 million, or 27%, more than the year before.

That must mean 2015 was a pretty great year for BofA and Citi, right? Not quite. The shares of the two banks fell, dropping 6% and 4%, respectively.

...

J.P. Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon was the biggest winner of the big bank CEOs in terms of pay raises. Shares of J.P. Morgan JPM -0.77% rose last year, by 6%. The bank’s operating profit, though, fell 2%. What’s more, the bank sent a fair amount of its employees packing last year, cutting 6,671 positions in 2015. None of that stopped J.P. Morgan’s board from awarding Dimon a hefty 35% raise. Dimon got a $7 million raise, to $27 million for 2015.

Jobs and families, a very big difference between Republican and Democratic leadership

When a Republican endorses destroying American families and communities by sending jobs to the slums of Asia and Mexico, they'll tell you it's just simple economics. The CEO has the right to make more money by firing you and hiring slave labor in Asia if he wants to. It's just cold hard cash in their pockets.

When Democratic leadership endorses destroying American families and communities by sending jobs to the slums of Asia and Mexico, they'll tell you they are hurting your community in the most socially responsible way, by helping the more needy families of Asia and Mexico.

Do you want to sacrifice your children to satisfy the endless greed of a Wall Street CEO? Or do you want to sacrifice your children to the benefit of more worthy families in Asia and beyond?

Clearly one is better than the other. Please keep this important distinction in mind when complaining about losing your job to India or China. Stop being so selfish. Obviously if you cared about your job AND the world, you'd be willing to work for $7/day.

We just got more evidence that the middle class in America is dying. According to brand new numbers that were just released by the Social Security Administration, 51 percent of all workers in the United States make less than $30,000 a year. Let that number sink in for a moment. You can’t support a middle class family in America today on just $2,500 a month – especially after taxes are taken out. And yet more than half of all workers in this country make less than that each month. In order to have a thriving middle class, you have got to have an economy that produces lots of middle class jobs, and that simply is not happening in America today.

You can find the report that the Social Security Administration just released right here. The following are some of the numbers that really stood out for me…

-38 percent of all American workers made less than $20,000 last year.

-51 percent of all American workers made less than $30,000 last year.

-62 percent of all American workers made less than $40,000 last year.

-71 percent of all American workers made less than $50,000 last year.

That first number is truly staggering. The federal poverty level for a family of five is $28,410, and yet almost 40 percent of all American workers do not even bring in $20,000 a year.

Hillary supporters defending jobs to Mexico and Asia and destruction of the middle class

Amazing.. they smugly throw it back in our face as the new reality. We all know the USA was built on passive compliance, right?

The leading Democrat is proud of the job losses and her supporters are just as proud... she is picking up support from the job killers on Wall Street and her supporters can't find a limit to the stupidity of supporting the governments of Vietnam, Mexico, China and India over the US.

Just as incredible, the leading Republican promises to stop it... he's picking up support from working class and independents.

The right wing DNC is now pushing past Republicans in specific instances of economic policies designed to disrupt the middle class.

Wtf? I'll never understand or be able to forgive the Democrats who cheer on the destruction and sacrifice of our next generation in favor of building the economies and military might of Asia.

What's wrong with hiring Americans and taking care of our own kids instead of. exploiting the poverty in India and China? Can't these nations figure out how to take care of their own citizens without our jobs? Or are we afraid they'll attack the US if we don't pay them with our young?

This is a critical election issue and establishment conservatives in both parties are on the wrong side.

When Hillary sends your job to India, China and/or Vietnam...

I guess we can still admire her pluckiness.

People don't want Hillary sending more jobs to Asia and Mexico...

What is so hard to understand about this?

March 19, 2016

Just vote for Hillary, we'll fix it later...

Yeah, will fix it like Libya, Syria, Iraq, Wall Street crime, using public office for personal gain and job losses to Asian sweat shops and tax shelters.

If there is one thing we know, Hillary refuses to learn from her many, many mistakes. But notice a pattern ... while her mistakes hurt us, she profits nicely.

Hillary the President

Higher wages for Wall Street.
Lower wages for you.

More jobs for India, China, Vietnam, Mexico
Fewer jobs for citizens.

Fewer regulations for Wall Street
Social Security on the table.

More war and foreign intervention, trillions to pay for it.
Less investment in education and jobs programs.

More privatization of prisons and law enforcement.
Fewer chances for people to get out of poverty.

More tax breaks for health care industry.
Fewer positive health care outcomes with higher costs.

More mingling of public trust and personal finacial gain.
Less transparency and accountability.

Lending more credibility to Reagan and Kissinger using revisionist propaganda.
Demonizing FDR as an unrealistic dreamer.

Hillary is running a campaign that virtually promises to screw the middle class. That's the best we can do isn't it?

The insideous nature of our political monopoly is that as long as the right wing keeps pushing farther and farther to the right, conservative carpet baggers will step inside the vacuum left behind to promote themselves as the more reasonable of two very fucked up choices.

That's what the Clinton's third way represents. Rich conservatives want to keep all the social benefits of a liberal worldview without giving up their elite and privileged economic advantage creating an underclass living in poverty and lowering the quality of life for 300 million people.

It seems impossible that any Democrat could cheer for that. By promoting Hillary, you are promoting the destruction of American communities by our corrupt election process. The Wall Street amnesty, prison population and job losses to Mexico and Asia are enough to prove this.

How about resigning your moral obligation to the false choice of lesser evils? Lol. Not quite. That's just a lazy intellectual device hiding the fact that you are just fine with exactly the way things are and you dont give a damn about the world around you.

By not wanting to change the way things are, you are actively contributing to the declining relevance of what it means to be an American. In its place we have an odd sentimentalism and false patriotism manifesting itself in an embarrassing spectacle of lies and insincerity by the two presidential frontrunners.

Sanders had a strong debate in Flint

That had to help his strong showing in primary. Now you know why Debbie and Hillary didnt want anyone seeing a debate between a supplyside woman who believes nothing needs to change except for some tweaks at the margins and a man who completely understands the inconvenient truth that we need to re-engineer our political machinery so that it works for the benefit of all.

March 7, 2016

Sanders has the passion of a politician who can get things done. He gets right to point

he understands root cause, understands that we CAN change, he deals in specifics, he's articulate, he's a true statesman.

He has some idiosyncrasies as some are yammering on about, but that's only because they understand what a formidable candidate he is. Seriously, if you are in middle class, there has been no better presidential candidate in a generation.

There's nothing wrong with resetting our expectations and demanding integrity, honesty and down to earth people to serve as our representatives.

Sanders will inspire those with skill and smarts to join government service instead of taking a job at Goldman Sachs where they'll spend every hour awake trying to fuck over the middle class, and every hour asleep wrestling with the nightmares inspired by their tortured conscience.

We need good, hands-on people like Sanders in Government.

Chicken Hawk joins the Marines, comes under sniper fire in Bosnia, serves in Iraq and Libya...

Ready to take on Wall Street and the private prison system.

Locked and loaded.

Haven't we had enough of wannabe war heroes?
