Has anybody here actually READ what Baker's campaign is saying?

He is proposing to cut state funding for education.

He is proposing to use SOME of those funds to give tax breaks to businesses.

He is wanting to fix social services but not proposing any more funding for any of them, including child abuse and services to mentally challenged or mentally ill.

He is ignoring 100's of roads and bridges that need repair.

Your local real estate taxes will go up to meet the school budget cuts.

Some flash in the pan stuff with $6 million for "renewable energy" whatever that is, (and, of course more tax breaks for companies that do "renewable energy" like recycling).

To read this, you would think Charlie Baker is going to change the world by changing your trash collection schedule. But, of course, Charlie doesn't like to pay teachers much, or increase the number of child abuse social workers as is obviously needed.

Smoke and mirrors.

Why isn't the Coakley campaign and the Democratic Party of Mass taking him apart on these issues?

Martha, you need to start swinging aggressively, not trying to defend your record over the last 25 years. You are a smart woman, but not aggressive enough to defeat this slug you are running against.

Watching Martha Coakley live in debate...

She's going to lose this election to that Republican slime ball.

She's looking scared, cowered over, spineless. Who the heck did her hair? She's looking like a 50 year old trying to look 25. The tone of her arguments comes out as whines, not solid assertions.

Charlie slime ball is looking like a college freshman with his cute blond hair.

Oh, this is not flamebait, I agree with Martha and will vote for her. I can't stand Charlie.

But this debate is so poorly framed for Martha.

Whoever set this up, didn't study the nature of television optics. Martha is losing this debate on optics alone.

Chuck Todd Cuts Ad For Mitch McConnell

Chuck Todd Cuts Ad For Mitch McConnell

Here, ladies and gentlemen, is your "liberal media" at work.

In a debate last week with Mitch McConnell, Alison Lundergan Grimes refused to answer the question about who she voted for in 2012. Rightly so. While I realize some Obama supporters view this as denying the President, it's actually a pragmatic move when the other side is trying to wrap you in Obama paper as a way to trigger racial responses rather than rational ones.

Kentucky, after all, is still a Southern state with southern attitudes, especially in the rural areas. The question itself was a terrible one, and not germane to whether Grimes would be a good Senator. It was a no-win question and Grimes did the best she could.

But that's not good enough for "I love the game of politics" Chuck Todd. He felt the need to place his finger on the scales to weight it toward the GOP by declaring on last Friday's Morning Joe that Grimes had "disqualified herself." Sort of like jumping the gun on a swim meet or something.

That declaration is now featured in a McConnell attack ad on Grimes:

Windows 8.1 laptop no longer recognizes HTC Android photos file

I have tried and tried with both USB cable connection and Blue Tooth. Neither method of connection enables my Dell Windows 8.1 laptop to even "see" the contents on my photo files on the HTC Android phone. It used to work, last time I tried, this past summer, it doesn't now.

On the Windows 8.1 laptop, I get the message "driver not installed for this device. Do you wish to install a driver?" I respond YES, and then it says "Cannot find the driver for this device".

However, when I connect via USB to my HP desktop computer with Windows 7, my desktop immediately sees the photo file on the phone and I can download the pictures to the desktop machine, So, I'm not out of luck, I can then transfer them to a USB flash drive and then go to the Windows 8.1 laptop and copy the photos onto the laptop. The windows 8.1 laptop still recognizes USB flash drives and can see the photo and other file contents that way.

The laptop is 6 months old, under warentee. The Windows 7 desktop computer is 3 years old.

What have I done wrong? I'm sure it's "operator error", probably, and not something wrong with the laptop. Or perhaps someone else has had this problem? A

Any suggestions for solution would be most helpful. I use the laptop much more than the desktop, especially when I travel.

Catholic University Cancels LGBT Awareness Month 'Milk' Screening

Catholic University Cancels LGBT Awareness Month 'Milk' Screening

Evidently, this has NOTHING AT ALL to do with religion, to quote:

The Catholic University of America nixed a Wednesday screening of the film "Milk," a biopic about the first openly gay official to be elected to public office, Catholic news website Crux reported.

The Washington, D.C. school's College Democrats organized the event as part of LGBT Awareness Month. Students told Crux that the school approved the screening and a panel about the gay rights movement and Democratic politics last month.

"I was extremely disappointed that this was happening. I thought this was an incredibly asinine decision that the school made," College Democrats member Jackson Tovar told Crux.

On Wednesday morning, school officials told students that they were concerned with the size of the rainbow flag on the flyer and had a problem with the description of the event as part of LGBT Awareness Month.
