Supporters of reproductive rights are organizing to make sure the anti-women fanatics don't go unopposed. In New York City, NYC for Abortion Rights is organizing clinic defenses and encourages activists in other cities to do so as well. The group came up with 40 days' worth of actions and activities to show opposition to the "40 Days for Life." Here, we reprint them--and encourage readers to put them into practice to show your support of reproductive rights.

More important than Diwali is, in fact, Navaratri, which Hindus around the world are celebrating right now. What is this religious holiday, sacred to the more than 1 billion Hindus worldwide yet relatively unknown by non-Hindus, all about?

Diwali, a festival of lights celebrated by Hindus, Sikhs, Jains and others in India and other countries, has long been observed in immigrant communities around the U.S.
But now public celebrations of the holiday are starting to pop up in places ranging from Disneyland and Times Square to parks and museums.

From a Catholic perspective, the controversy over kneeling during the national anthem is strange. Many people, like President Trump, are criticizing players for kneeling because they say it shows disrespect. .....

In the case of the NFL, those kneeling should be allowed to explain their symbolic action. If they say it is a protest against racial injustice and not an attack on the flag, their interpretation should be respected. They are the authors of their action and have a unique right and obligation to explain it. Challenging their interpretation of their actions is arrogant and demeaning. To tell them they cannot express and explain their views is to cut off their freedom of expression.
