Facebook censors pipeline protestors posts/ video

Facebook has admitted to censoring a video posted by activists protesting the Dakota Access pipeline, with the social network blaming the removal on its automated spam filter. The live stream video, published on Tuesday by the media collective Unicorn Riot, showed police arresting around two dozen protesters at a Dakota pipeline site. Unicorn Riot published a link to the live stream on its Facebook page, but the URL was blocked and other users were unable to share it. The link has since been restored, and a Facebook spokesperson apologized for the removal in a statement to Motherboard.

In a statement to Antimedia, a member of Unicorn Riot said that the video was censored "shortly before two of our journalists were arrested onsite," adding that posts and comments that contained the URL "triggered popup security alerts." According to the collective, Facebook's debugger said that the link violated the site's "community standards."

Where's the OUTRAGE? Pipeline protest in ND.

From my friends Facebook page. I could not say it better.

"I couldn't be more disturbed than I am about the troubles in North Dakota this morning. I checked the website of every major news outlet last night, after seeing the facebook post about the riot police w/automatic weapons arresting protesters (and reporters from a small web/news site), and there was not one story about it. NPR had a little blurb that was 3 days old, at the bottom. They've shut off phones, water, and internet service in the entire area, and blocked all the roads in and out. When they shut off the internet in Cairo during the "Arab Spring" conflict in Egypt, everyone was outraged. Where is the outrage now? Why are we allowing this to happen here in the home of the brave, and the land of the free? Don't bother going there, the "authorities" won't let you in. Why do they need riot police? Why is the National Guard protecting a pipeline from peaceful protesters? But please, let me know how you feel about Colin Kapernick and the National Anthem, because that's a real news story."

38 years ago, this happened! (Grateful Dead at the Pyramids)

Pyramids, 38 Years Ago Today

Posted by Andrew O'Brien on Wednesday September 14th, 2016 The essence of the Grateful Dead has always been spiritually inclined. From their early days as the live soundtrack of Ken Keseyand the Merry Pranksters’ “Acid Tests,” the band embraced the idea of using their music as a vehicle to express the energy of their surroundings, whether it was created by the crowd, the chemicals, or something bigger than us. Jerry Garcia explained that navigating these bizarre, experimental LSD-fueled gatherings as musicians taught them to “play with a certain kind of freedom that you rarely get as a musician. We didn’t have to fulfill the expectations about us, or expectations about music. It allowed us to experiment with music freely.”

The Dead maintained this sense of exploration as their live shows began to attract a devoted following. In an interview in the short film A Conversation with Ken Kesey, author Ken Kesey commented on this phenomena: “[the Dead] weren’t just playing what was on the music sheets, they were playing what was in the air. When the Dead are at their best, the vibrations that are stirred by the audience is the music that they play.”

Lot's more here and some recordings, video etc.

Ivanka is as big of LIAR as The Rump is (maternity leave)

In a television appearance touting her father’s newly released maternity leave and child care plans, Ivanka Trump said that the Trump Organization provided all of its thousands of employees with paid maternity leave.

If it does, that’s news to employees at many of the Trump Organization’s hotels.

The Huffington Post on Wednesday morning checked the validity of Ivanka Trump’s comments to ABC. Employees at the Trump SoHo, New York and Miami hotels, as well as the Mar-a-Lago Club in Florida, all said that they do not offer workers paid maternity leave. Instead, they said that the company complied with the Family and Medical Leave Act, a federal law that requires companies to give employees up to 12 weeks of unpaid time off for the adoption or birth of a child.

An undated employee handbook for the Trump International Hotel Las Vegas, obtained by HuffPost, states that workers there are entitled to unpaid family leave, in accordance with the FMLA. The manual notes that employees must “substitute their earned and unused vacation days and personal days for any otherwise unpaid FMLA leave.” That is, if employees want paid maternity or paternity leave, they have to use other paid time off that they’ve banked.

It's list time! Who are The Deplorables?

And what makes them so goddamn deplorable? Post pics, links, videos etc...

HRC should suggest MORE moderators at debates!

A fact checker. Sitting beside the stage fact checking in real time. A "pants on fire" graphic, etc.

Of course T rump would never go for it but it would make him look pretty lame if she proposed it. T rump could never agree to that, no how no way. It would take the fact checking heat off the chosen moderators too.

What other containers do Deplorables come in?

Or is that a general unit of measurement, like Shitload? Is there a sackful of deplorables? A peck of deplorables?

Basket of Deplorables.... Best band name ever?

I'm thinking some kind of skin head, death metal punk band, this would be perfect.

Could even get booked (and not get paid.....it's the exposure, right?) at T rump campaign events.
