Move Over Bitcoin, Here Comes PotCoin

Bitcoin has been the standard cryptocurrency for awhile now, but now there's a new competitor aimed at the marijuana industry.

Crytocurrencies such as Bitcoin are used by people who want to make anonymous financial transactions, but now there's a new kid on the block and it's aimed right at an economic sector it desperate need of ways to deal with millions of dollars in cash.

The economic sector is the "legal" marijuana industry in the US, and the cryptocurrency trying to tap that market is PotCoin. Actually, it's not the only one, but it does appear to be the one with the best chance of competing with Bitcoin, according to the Cryptocurrency Times.

Because marijuana remains illegal under federal law, pot shops and related enterprises are largely unable to use traditional financial services like banks and credit card providers to take care of business. The financial institutions are afraid of being prosecuted for money laundering or similar charges by the feds, and while bills have been filed to address the marijuana banking problem, none of them has yet to pass.

Thus, many of these pot businesses are operating on a cash-only basis, which is not only inconvenient, but also dangerous. And since pot businesses lack a non-physical way of completing secure transactions, if there is one industry for which cryptocurrencies make sense, it is the US marijuana business.

White Lady Lets Jesus Take Wheel, Does Donuts In Road, Hits 2 Cop Cars, No Shots Fired (VIDEO)

If you’ve ever wondered, “What is white privilege,” you need look no further than a nice, white lady who did donuts in the street with her car, endangered numerous lives, rammed two police cars, and ranted about Jesus for a while — and lived.

An unnamed, obviously mentally disturbed white lady became possessed by the spirit of Jesus on Thursday, when she began driving in circles at the intersection of Ozark Avenue and North New Hope Road in Gastonia, North Carolina. As she embarked on her holy crusade against…apparently other vehicles on the road…the woman waved her arm out of the window and screamed incoherently.

According to Gastonia Police Capt. Rodney Aldridge, when an officer arrived on the scene, the officer asked for the woman’s name, which she told him was “Faith, hope, and love.” The officer attempted to calm the woman down, but she backed up and rammed his car with her Jesus-mobile. A witness says the officer had to jump out of the way to avoid being run over by the crazed Christian’s vehicle. The woman rammed the police officer’s car a second and third time before she resumed driving in circles on the road.

The woman proceeded to ram two more civilian cars and another Gastonia patrol vehicle before driving over an embankment and flipping her own. Police and a bystander rushed to pull the woman to safety. According to witnesses, the Jesus-possessed woman was screaming for bystanders to “look up” and to “pray for” her. As she was exiting her vehicle, the woman even sang a bit of Jesus Loves the Little Children,” witnesses say.
