Hillary Clinton just disqualified herself as Commander in Chief

Yesterday Hillary accidentally threatened to launch a first strike nuclear attack against Iran.

In a strange incident, Supreme Court Justice Breyer jumped in from the audience to correct her.

How rare is it that a politician says something so bizarre, so inappropriate, that a Supreme Court Justice will actually interrupt her speech to rescue her from her own words? Extremely rare. Never heard of it before.

Could that be why today we've been sitting through a whole day of hearing about how Bernie Sanders is unhinged and not qualified? Are Clintonistas trying to distract from this huge gaffe?

What would be the consequences if Bernie Sanders threatened to use the "nuclear option" against any country? It would probably end his campaign. And it should be the end of Hillary's campaign too.

Mrs. Clinton used the forum to continue staking out a harder line on Iran than President Obama has in public. She repeatedly threatened to take what she called “harsh” steps at the first sign that Iran seeks to violate commitments it made in the July nuclear agreement, which sharply limits its ability to possess or produce nuclear fuel for the next 15 years.

She said there should be “no doubt in Tehran” that if the United States saw “any violations in the deal” or an effort to procure or develop nuclear weapons technology, “we will stop them,” including, she added, “taking military action.”

At one point, responding to a question, she referred to using the “nuclear option” against Iran — usually interpreted as using a nuclear weapon — before her attention was caught by a prominent member of the audience, Justice Stephen G. Breyer of the Supreme Court.

“Oh, the military option, thank you, Justice Breyer. He’s a careful listener,” Mrs. Clinton said, reiterating that she meant a military option to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. It was a rare moment: a sitting member of the court rescuing a political candidate from a mistaken comment.

Bernie Sanders declares war on the prison-industrial complex with major new bill

Sanders teams up with members of the Congressional Black Caucus to ban private facilities

Bernie Sanders just made good on an early campaign promise and introduced a bill in the Senate to outlaw what he called the “morally repugnant” practice of incarcerating Americans in private prisons and called for the reduction in the nation’s prison population.

On Thursday, the Vermont independent introduced The Justice Is Not for Sale Act which bars the federal government from contracting with private companies. Sanders’ bill was introduced as a part of a package of legislation sponsored by Reps. Raúl M. Grijalva of Arizona, Keith Ellison of Minnesota and Bobby L. Rush of Illinois, aimed at making important criminal justice reforms including increased oversight on the predatory banking and telephone services for inmates.

In August, after a couple of high-profile interruptions of Sanders’ campaign stops by protestors affiliated with the Black Lives Matter movement drew scrutiny to Sanders’ appetite to discuss racial justice , the candidate began telling his supporters that he planned to introduce legislation banning private prisons — a practice he’s long opposed.

Sanders said “it makes no sense” that “America has more jails and prisons than college and universities.” Calling the growth of prisons in the United States “unacceptable,” Sanders said “it makes more sense to be investing in our children, making sure they stay in school, making sure they get the mentoring they need, rather than simply locking them up.”

Bernie Sanders visits Baltimore for round table, tour of Freddie Gray's neighborhood

Source: WBFF

Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (Vt.) traveled to Baltimore on Tuesday, to meet with social justice and faith leaders and take a walking tour of Sandtown-Winchester, the neighborhood where Freddie Gray lived.

His visit comes during the first officer trial in the Freddie Gray case. The trial for Officer William Porter, who faces charges of involuntary manslaughter, assault/second degree and misconduct in office in connection with Gray's death, began last week and could last until mid-December. All six officers charged in the case will be tried separately, in Baltimore City, with the remaining trials scheduled to take place between January and March.

The walking tour began around 9 a.m. Sanders joined Baltimore Empowerment Temple Pastor Dr. Jamal Bryant for a walk around the West Baltimore neighborhood, before pausing to speak to the crowd that followed.

"We are the wealthiest country in the history of the world and every year we're seeing more and more millionaires and more and more billionaires, but in communities like this what we're seeing is kids dropping out of schools, being in bad schools, being in dilapidated housing," Sanders said. "It's time to transform our national priorities; invest in our kids, invest in affordable housing, invest in education, invest in jobs. Fifty-one percent of young African American kids in this country are unemployed or under employed. That is a national tragedy and that has got to change. It's got to change for human reasons --- we don't want to see lives destroyed --- but even if you're a conservative it's got to change for fiscal reasons. You save money when you create jobs and education rather than locking people up. It's a very expensive proposition to be locking people up. Better to invest in housing, jobs and education."

Bernie Sanders visits Black community in Baltimore, talks education and society - December 8, 2015

"This is the wealthiest country in the history of the world. We can create a society in which all of our people have a decent standard of living, not a society in which almost all new income and wealth goes to the top 1%. That's what I'm dedicated to changing."
— Sen. Bernie Sanders 12/8/15

In response to question about why he didn't mention ISIS:
Of course I'll talk about ISIS. But today what we're talking about is a community in which half of the people don't have jobs. We're talking about a community in which there are hundreds of buildings that are uninhabitable. We're talking about a community where kids are unable to go to schools that are decent.

You want to ask me about ISIS? We will talk about ISIS. But what I said, and let me repeat, and you can agree with me or not, what I have said is that obviously ISIS and terrorism are a huge national issue that we've got to address. But so is poverty, so is unemployment, so is education, so is health care, so is the need to protect working families. And I will continue to talk about those issues.
— Sen. Bernie Sanders 12/8/15

Donald Trump’s “Ban Muslims” Proposal Is Wildly Dangerous But Not Far Outside the U.S. Mainstream

Hours after a new poll revealed that he’s trailing Ted Cruz in Iowa, GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump issued a statement advocating “a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our representatives can figure out what’s going on.” His spokesperson later clarified that this exclusion even includes Muslim-American citizens who are currently outside the U.S. On first glance, it seems accurate to view this, in the words of The Guardian, as “arguably the most extreme proposal to come from any U.S. presidential candidate in decades.”
...

As The Atlantic’s Matt Ford put it yesterday: “The immediate danger isn’t Trump’s actual policy, but the bigotry and violence that it both legitimizes and encourages.” Muslim Americans (and, for that matter, Mexican-Americans and African-Americans) don’t have the luxury that people like Douthat and Greenman have to be so dismissive. That’s what Al Jazeera’s Sana Saeed meant when she said that she’s “tired of people telling us to not be afraid — Trump may not win but his words will last & there are people who support” the bile he’s spewing.

All that said, it’s important not to treat Trump as some radical aberration. He’s essentially the American id, simply channeling pervasive sentiments unadorned with the typical diplomatic and PR niceties designed to prettify the prevailing mentality. He didn’t propose banning all Muslims from entering the U.S. because it’s grounded in some fringe, out-of-the-mainstream ideas. He proposed it in part to commandeer media attention so as to distract attention away from his rivals and from that latest Iowa poll, but he also proposed it because he knows there is widespread anti-Muslim fear and hatred in the U.S. Whatever else you want to say about him, Trump is a skillful entertainer, and good entertainers — like good fascist demagogues — know their audience.

Trump’s proposal yesterday, though a new low, is not that far afield from what other credible GOP presidential candidates previously proposed. Jeb Bush previously urged that the U.S. be wary of Syrian Muslim refugees but eagerly accept “proven Christians.” Ted Cruz advocated an outright ban on Syrian Muslim refugees and then introduced a bill to bar refugees from multiple predominantly Muslim countries unless they’re Christians. Ben Carson argued that no Muslim could be President because their beliefs are anathema to constitutional principles. Those proposals are more limited than what Trump advocated yesterday, but they’re hardly in a different universe; they’re grounded in the same principle that Muslims are uniquely dangerous and antithetical to American values.

Lest liberals become self-satisfied about all this, this obsession with demonizing Muslims is by no means confined to the GOP presidential field. Residing — or so they claim — outside the far-right and Fox News swamps, there’s a sprawling cottage industry of pundits, academics, authors, TV hosts, think tanks, and “anti-extremist” activist groups devoted primarily to one idea: that Islam is supremely dangerous and Muslims pose the greatest threat. Beloved Democratic General Wesley Clark, while on MSNBC earlier this year, explicitly called for “camps” for radicalized American Muslims. CNN’s role in all this is legion.

Hillary threatens first strike "nuclear option" against Iran, did she misspeak?

Hillary threatens unilateral first strike military action against Iran. Anybody else think that's nuts?

Once you threaten that, once you draw that line in the sand, you pretty much have to follow through, or you cost the USA its credibility as the top world cop.

Apparently Justice Breyer reigned in the insanity a little bit during the Saban forum today. That shouldn't be needed really.

Hillary supporters are a big reason I will not support Hillary

Yes she's got the support of this war criminal, this enemy of the people, one of the most despicable characters in American history, a man who belongs behind bars, who used the power of the US government to overthrow democratically elected governments and replace them with right wing dictators, Mr. Henry Kissinger.

He is quite happy with Mrs. Clinton because she follows along with the same type of policies he did, the policies of empire and domination. In some ways Clinton is actually worse than Kissinger because she's left a legacy of chaos, failed states, terrorists run rampant, and a refugee crisis that threatens global stability. From Libya, to Syria, to Honduras, US foreign policy under Hillary Clinton resulted in immense human tragedy. Her Senate vote authorizing the Iraq war is the clearest example.

No Thanks.
