So, I have a cousin whom I've not seen for maybe 5 years.
And in that time, Steven, became Rose.
Rose, is my trans cousin whom I would always see at family reunions, Thanksgivings and whatnot. Always been younger than me.
Originally, he was for lack of a better term, a little shit. heh, I say that with affection though. The little guy only wanted attention.
Today though, Steven is not he. That's only how I remember Steven growing up. She is Rose today and has been for about 4 years.
Rose grew up with a rough life. Her mother is a junkie and has abandoned the family many times just to come back when she hit rock bottom every time. She left Rose and her brother in the care of their grandparents. And in the past years, both of them have passed away.
That left Rose with a brother and her junkie mom. That's all she's got.
Tonight, Rose is in the ICU. Suffering from pneumonia and septic blood. Our family just got word of this. Even though she's been in the ICU since Monday night.
She's unconscious and on a respirator. She was coughing up blood. She's only 17 I think. I feel bad for not remembering. But, when I look back on the boy Steven and realize my last encounter with him, he was just a light that wanted to shine brighter. Impersonating Beyonce with all the zeal that the music deserves.
You don't realize what's in your life till it's gone. And I don't want the world to lose that light tonight. So if you would keep Rose in your thoughts and/or prayers, it would mean a lot to me.
ETA: Sorry, I forgot to mention the urgency of this situation. The doctors said she has 24 hours for them to determine how this is going to go. She's stable but they're saying this is a critical moment.
I finished my first day at the new job!
And it wasn't the job that went against my personal beliefs that I landed, I got the one I really wanted!
All my life, I've always enjoyed tinkering. Disassembling consumer electronics of all kinds and seeing what makes them tick. Then just putting them back together. Later on, I started repairing consumer electronics... It started with RC Cars, game controllers, then consoles, then computers and so on. It's a hobby of mine that I've always enjoyed.
And after experiencing my first day at my new job, I can honestly say that I have landed the job that is just like my hobby and I am very happy about it! I will receive broken units that are broken for various reasons. Diagnose them to see what's the problem and then repair them! It's just like my hobby! But I'm getting paid!
The team that I'll be working with is very small and they seem very awesome so far. The repair lab is a smorgasbord of electronics and robotics all over the place with tools as far as the eye can see and... ANNDD....
I have my own cubicle. I have a DESK. I HAVE A DESK PHONE WITH A PRIVATE EXTENSION. I'M GETTING BUSINESS CARDS AHHH!! It's so awesome! I've never had that before. It's great!
Plus, there's free drinks in the break room. Free Pepsi, Free V8 Juice all the time. WOOO!!!
I'm sorry. I'm just relieved and happy all at the same time. I feel that life can now continue as planned. What a relief.

I FEEL GOOD! It's good to be back!
My vacation has been a rejuvenating success and my goals were met.
I got away from the internet.
I spent time with the woman who is most important in my life.
And I was able to step outside the clouded mind and figure things out clearly.
I tried my damnedest to abstain from political thinking over this vacation but... You know where Bernie won the most districts in my state??? THE MOUNTAINS. And that's where I happened to be for the vacation!
BERNIE SIGNS EVERYWHERE. I was impressed and surprised to see that clearly, Bernie's best North Carolinian ground game was in the hills! haha, who woulda thunk it?
Knowing NC, I thought I was heading for Cruzville or Trump Town but nope... The progressives live in the hills here don't they? XD
Just goes to show ya, everything we seem to think we know about this primary just happens to surprise us when we're wrong.
I see A LOT of positive surprises in our future too.
I'm refreshed and ready. I feel good. We're over the mountain of Hillary's success and it'll be a steady hike from here.

Ugh, I can't believe I'm saying this to the most optimistic and enthusiastic group of supporters that any campaign has ever seen but...
YOU'VE GOT TO CALM DOWN AND COME BACK TO REALITY. I LOVE YOU, but please, sit down for a moment and stop with the pessimism, it's contagious and it's hurtful to our campaign.
Remember what we've been saying for WEEKS? This is Hillary's LAST GOOD DAY.
But then we won Michigan, and honestly, I think we let it get to our heads. We got overconfident and we invested a lot of emotion into tonight.
Originally, Bernie was not supposed to do well this day anyways.
It is AFTER THIS DAY, that Bernie is going to excel. We've known this, we have the data to prove it. All we had for tonight was the positive high of pulling off Michigan's upset.
So for the love of Bernie, PULL IT TOGETHER. This was expected for weeks. Don't let Michigan's win distort your reality.
We're still climbing and she's still falling. That reality hasn't changed. Stay the course.
Now snap out of it. We're fine.
ETA: And you know what? We were optimistic about winning EVEN WHEN WE THOUGHT WE WERE GOING TO LOSE MICHIGAN AND TODAY. So why the fuck is anyone upset that we ACTUALLY won Michigan and might not lose everything today? GAH.

By all previous accounts of our own research, we determined this to be Hillary's last good day anyways.

I was going to keep that as a memento of this first time in my life getting involved in politics....
jokes on them though! the sign served its purpose all the way to voting day and I already made my vote!!!
