For a guitar junkie like me, Bill Nelson is quite the headrush

The 1st Be Bop Deluxe band was fired right after this album - reportedly because Bill changed his mind about what Be Bop Deluxe really was. It became a Glamrock/Prog rock project for the next 5 or 6 years... When he went on to form Red Noise and then on to pioneer ambient music

So "Axe Vitim" was the only straight power pop/guitar rock album. Bill certainly didn't waste the opportunity to freaking shred

But every now and again Bill decides to remind us that he doesn't just play a synth and still has the six string chops
