It’s that dire.
The new voter suppression laws in many states (especially those that give power to state legislatures to oversee elections) are the entire ballgame.
The only way to stop those new state laws is with new federal laws that vacate them.
And the only way to get those new federal laws is to end the filibuster.
So, Manchin and Sinema change their positions on the filibuster or it’s over and democracy will die and a full out autocracy will take over.

It’s not enough for those sane Republicans that don’t buy into the Stop the Steal nonsense to say they are still Republicans or Independents trying to save or heal the current Republican Party.
We are in crisis mode with The two Macs in charge of the two Congressional bodies Repub caucus. They have bought into stop the steal and voter suppression moves.
Barring a last minute conversion by Manchin and a few other Dem Senators who are against ending the filibuster, the 2022 midterms could become the Shit$how to end all Shit$hows.
Sane Republicans have to vote with us in 2022 for the Dems to hold the House and pad the Senate majority a little for there to be any hopes at saving our democracy.
After that, they can rebuild or remake the GOP to their hearts content.

I used to really enjoy him especially on Nicolle Wallace’s show.

Always thought he leaned right but was basically a straight shooter.

I was just thinking about how Joe Biden just loves people and feeds off of interaction with others.
It then made me think about how past Dem Presidents have been the same with Obama, Clinton, and Carter all being that way.
With GOP Presidents, you never get that same feeling of really liking to be around people except for fund raising.

I think we are now at the point where what is said on Fox News, OANN, Newsmax, Breitbart, and right wing radio needs to be answered EVERY DAY.
The craziness needs to be called out in one specific place each day.

I’m suggesting that CNN or MSNBC has a show devoted to this.
All of the lies, manipulation of the truth, and distortions and agendas need more scrutiny.

I know that both networks sometimes touch on the worst things they do each day.
But I’d like for there to be one place where it’s all called out to let the sane people know what the insane and corrupt are preaching to about 40% of the country.
We need daily information and monitoring of their evil actions and intents and what things can be done to blunt their efforts.

Let’s say that pressure from corporate America doesn’t work.
Let’s say that states with GOP led legislatures and Governors go ahead and pass voter suppression legislation similar to Georgia.

What then?

Will Democrats and their allies have the time, money, and expertise to try to comply with these new laws while educating the public on what is now needed for them to be eligible to vote in 2022?
Can we sufficiently motivate our voters to not give up and do whatever it takes to still vote?

And, if we do still vote in big numbers and win in some of these red or purple states, will the GOP actually try to overturn elections in states that allow their legislatures to oversee their elections instead of a Secretary of State?

FYI....I hold out little hope of passing any Federal legislation for Voting Rights with our current Senate makeup. Losing, or at least altering, the filibuster would be needed for that and we don’t currently have 51 Dems willing to do so. Sigh.

Can anyone cheer me up and give me some hope on this subject.
I worry that 2022 might be a bloodbath for Dems.
