Otters attack British man in Singapore park

Whole title: ‘I thought I was going to die’: otters attack British man in Singapore park

Graham George Spencer says he was bitten 26 times in 10 seconds while out for a morning walk.

A man attacked by a pack of otters in a Singapore park has said that he thought he was going to die during the ordeal.

Graham George Spencer, a British citizen living in Singapore, said he was chased, pinned down and bitten “26 times in 10 seconds” by a family of otters while out for an early morning walk in the botanic gardens.

Spencer told The Straits Times he was approaching the gardens’ entrance on 30 November when he spotted about 20 otters crossing a path in front of him.

The animals were moving quietly but “went crazy” after another man ran towards them, Spencer told the paper. The runner was able to avoid the animals but Spencer was not as lucky.

He said they lunged at him, biting his ankles, legs and buttocks and causing him to fall over.

“I actually thought I was going to die – they were going to kill me,” he added.

Spencer’s friend, who was about “15 paces” away from him, ran up screaming in a bid to scare away the otters.

“I was bitten 26 times in 10 seconds. If it wasn’t for my friend, I don’t think I’d still be here. I’d be dead,” he told local outlet Today.

Filly, Bold and Bossy, escapes racetrack, runs onto Kentucky highway

HENDERSON, Ky. --
A 2-year-old filly got loose before a race at a Kentucky track and ran onto a highway alongside cars before being apprehended Saturday.

The filly named Bold and Bossy got loose on her way to the starting gate at Ellis Park. Jockey Miguel Mena was thrown off.

She then ran off the track and over a levee heading to U.S. 41. Bold and Bossy ran briefly onto Interstate 69 and Veterans Memorial Parkway, with a posse of trainers chasing her in their vehicles. Police and the sheriff's department also showed up.

"Thank god for all the people who jumped in to go find her because she left town," her owner-trainer, Michael Ann Ewing, said from Lexington.

Ewing said Bold and Bossy lost two shoes, and a hind hoof knocked some flesh off the heel of a front foot during her escapade, but she wasn't seriously injured. The filly was cramping from dehydration when she was finally corralled by a man and his wife, Ewing added.

Bold and Bossy was wearing her saddle and blinkers to restrict her vision as she galloped down the highway close to vehicles in other lanes. The blinkers probably made it harder to stop her, said Jack Hancock, a trainer who gave chase.

"She couldn't see anything beside her, so that made it a little worse trying to catch her," he said. "I've been here all my life and I've never seen one to do a run like this, not that far and not that much highway."

Horses that get loose on a racetrack often run back to the familiar setting of their barn, but Bold and Bossy had shipped in from Lexington to run in a race for the first time.

"She didn't know where to go home," Hancock said.

Not trying to bait the racetrack haters. This can happen in any equine sport.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene vows to introduce articles of impeachment

By: Scripps NationalPosted at 8:21 PM, Aug 19, 2021 and last updated 10:55 PM, Aug 19, 2021

Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene said she will introduce articles of impeachment against President Joe Biden Friday.

"I believe in firing people when they're corrupt and they do a bad job," the Georgia Republican said during a speaking tour in Iowa.

President Biden has faced increasing scrutiny for the chaotic U.S. withdrawal in Afghanistan.

However, the articles of impeachment will likely be dead on arrival. Democrats control the U.S. House of Representatives. There are no signs any Democrat would entertain articles of impeachment against Biden.

Rep. Taylor Greene is a controversial figure in Washington. She was removed from her committee assignments after videos surfaced that appeared to show her embracing far-right conspiracy theories.

Federal judge rules Gov. Andy Beshear violated law with executive mask mandate

Source: Lexington 18 News

(LEX 18) — A federal judge issued a temporary restraining order against Governor Andy Beshear's executive order mask mandate for schools on Thursday. However, the governor's office says the ruling only applies to schools within the Catholic Diocese of Covington.

In Jason Oswald, et al. v. Beshear, the plaintiffs challenged the legality of the Executive order issued by Beshear on August 10 requiring all teachers, staff, students, and visitors in Kentucky schools to wear face masks indoors regardless of vaccination status. In judge William Bertelsman's analysis, he states the Governor violates KRS39A.090 (3), which is the product of House Bill 1, Senate Bill 1, Senate Bill 2, and House Joint Resolution 77, all passed by the Kentucky General Assembly in its 2021 session.

"The Executive Branch cannot simply ignore laws passed by the duly-elected representatives of the citizens of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Therein lies tyranny. If the citizens dislike the laws passed, the remedy lies with them, at the polls."

Crystal Staley, the Director of Communications in Governor Beshear's Office released the following statement:
"The federal court’s ruling could place thousands of Kentucky children at risk and undoubtedly expose them to the most dangerous version of COVID-19 we have ever seen.

Gov. Beshear's action in the first Covid go round kept us from getting hit SO much worse. Rethuglicans took away those powers, and are trying to kill us all this time.

This is our bottle baby, Pepper. Mom had twins, but rejected this little girl, and we nearly lost her. Our lives currently revolve around bottle feeding her 5 times a day, but she is such a little joy.

Your Canada Drug Store?

Does anyone have experience with this company?

My husband needs to get a monthly prescription for the Anoro Ellipta inhaler filled every month. Price in the U.S.--around $400. From this site ("A prescription referral service), can get it filed in the UK for $111, with free shipping. We figure its safer than the one in Turkey.

This is the best price I've found. Any other sites recommended?

thanks!
