Upthevibe's JournalI need advice re: shotty construction..
Hey all
As I've mentioned before, I"m currently in Dallas working for a friend.
She recently had a sunroom added to her home. They messed up the concrete big time. The company came out to fix it but they messed it up even worse. She still owes them the final payment (which would be a huge hassle for her to have to close that account in order to deny the payment).
We're trying to figure out our options. The concrete must be fixed but the company who built the sunroom seem incompetent. She wants to hire another company to try to fix this and deduct those charges from her final payment.
Are there lawyers who handle these type of situations? Can anyone give me some advice?
Thank you and Happy New Year!
I'd like to work for the DNC at a national level.
I need an income so I can't just volunteer.
I'm a substitute teacher so I'm able to actually relocate temporarily to D.C. (if I could be provided housing).
I feel the tide may be turning because a childhood friend of mine (who was a trumper) is disgusted by the republicans because of what happened with the right to abortion. I don't know that she'll vote for the dems but she WON'T vote for the repubs. I think the TX abortion travesty that happened with Kate Cox was a game changer.
Please give me any ideas you guys may have.
Thank you
Do Progressives/Democrats here on DU hunt or have hunted in the past?
I'm not judging at all. I'm just curious. I realize a lot of it depends on how one grows up (part of the country, family, etc.)
The Color Purple Musical movie was absolutely fantastic!
I went with two friends this afternoon and we were all absolutely blown away.
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'll be seeing it again at the theatre. It MUST be seen on the big screen. I hope it does well at the box office and I hope that it cleans up at the Oscars. I simply can't express how incredible this film is.....
We were all three overcome with emotion. We teared up, cried, and even sobbed on and off throughout the movie.
Went to a great Christmas Eve service with
friends last night here in Dallas (where I'm currently working).
It was at a beautiful church that's LGBTQ and all inclusive (meaning hetros as well). I'm gay and my two friends are straight. It was a wonderful service!
One thing that was immediately obvious: At least two members were acting as security and had their guns in holsters plainly in sight. I think the guy was gay and the lady was a lesbian. Unfortunately, I think it's necessary during these times.
The minister's message was spectacular!
Is there still a "Spiritual" forum
on DU? Not Religious but the forum where they have groups such as Astrology?
Thanks
I need help with a quote......Thanks! I got my answer.......
"All Families are happy families (and then my friend and I can't remember the rest)...
Thank you
What song touches your soul
and can make you feel as through you're on a drug?
I have quite a few, but this morning I'm listening to Creep (Radiohead) and the many covers of this masterpiece.
I teach at a high school and it's blows me away that the students are now discovering Radiohead and especially this song. (Happy cry)... A couple of weeks ago as the kids were packing up for their next class, I put this tune on the room speaker. The freakin' loved it!
On different days and at different times there are others. What songs do my fellow DU'ers treasure?
What Christmas movie lifts your spirits everytime that may not
be one of the most popular?
Mine is The Family Man (from 2000) starring Nicholas Cage and Tia Leoni....
I frickin' love this film.....
