Yesterday I saw the movie "Darkest Hour"...

I need some ideas of funny/feel-good/inspirational YouTubes, cartoons, etc.

that I can email to my best friend who's really down: He's 53 y.o, is in an unhappy marriage (he and his husband have been together for 14 years), is devastated about what's going on politically, intensely dislikes his job, and lives in Rhode Island where he can't stand the cold weather (he's lived here in Southern California -where I am- for most of his adult life and is trying to get back out here as soon as he can). The two of us have been friends since 1993 where we worked for the same company. We initially had our gayness (I'm a lesbian) in common and the more time we spent together the more we realized we had a whole lot in common. We connect on levels that I've never connected with anyone else. We've been through EVERYTHING together. He's the most important person in the world to me. He has an amazing sense of humor, and I know if I send him some funny, touching, inspirational, links, it'll mean a lot to him. Thanks guys

Can someone clarify something about the supposed "banned words" given to the CDC?

My understanding is it was reported by the Washington Post on Saturday, and I think there were around seven words. Now I'm reading a denial that this mandate ever existed. I'm thinking WTF? Did someone intentionally feed The Post bogus information to e/affect their credibility?

I've been a member of DU since the very beginning....after that horrible fiasco - the sElection of 2000. My first user name was Lindsey, then I changed it to Nirvana555, and now it's Upthevibe. I had devices crash and I ended up having to change my user name. I've never been one to make a whole lot of original posts, but I consider myself a very active member in that I come to DU almost every day and read the wonderfully informative threads. I can't imagine what life would have been like over the past two decades without DU!
