Why is hurricane relief a Democratic issue???
I'm watching A.M. Joy and they're talking about DACA. One of the guests said something to the effect that we also have hurricane relief on the table. Why do Democrats have to fight for hurricane relief? Are Republicans also not a/effected by hurricanes? Did I misunderstand what they were saying? I'd love some input for clarification....
Thomas Marino (R)- 10th district of Pennsylvania....I watched 60 minutes tonight
for their 50th Anniversary special. That's when I saw the story about Thomas Marino and his writing the legislation allowing drug companies to more easily distribute some of their dangerous drugs (Opioids). And then dt appointed him drug Czar (but he withdrew his name). My understanding is that this particular part of Pennsylvania is currently one of the areas suffering from the Opioid crisis. Is this a seat that could be flipped in the upcoming Mid-Terms?
A friend of mine has a friend whose daughter attempted
suicide by overdosing on pills (Xanax and some type of anti-depressant). She's OK and is getting the appropriate treatment. My question is this: My friend was told by one of their other friends that this young lady (around 25 years old) had a prescription for 5 mg. of Xanax a day! I said that I thought it was impossible that ANY doctor would write a prescription for a 25 year old who weighs around 140 lbs. to take 5 mgs. of Xanax a day. I'm NOT asking for any advice or anything like that. I'd just like input if this sounds completely bizarre. Thoughts?
Who's going to their cities "Women's March" next Saturday?
It's on January 20th. I'm a Californian but am in TX for a temp. work project. I'll be attending the March here in Dallas. I private messaged all of my FB friends yesterday to encourage them to go to the ones in their areas. The responses I received were so heartening!
I don't know that their is a lot of "buzz" about it. I want the crowds to be even bigger than last year because he's been more of a nightmare than I could have possibly imagined! The "powers that be" need to know we're paying attention. I think my sign will say, "Shithole in solidarity." This past week has REALLY revved me up....

The movie "The Post" has skewed ratings on this website b/c of dt supporters. They say it right there in their reviews. One person gives it 1 star and actually states in the review that he's not going to see it b/c of "Liberal Hollywood." I saw the movie and thought it was excellent. If any of you guys have seen it and liked it, it's not hard to sign up as an audience reviewer. One of my good friends (who's a Progressive) actually said she may not see it b/c the audience ratings aren't that great. I just thought I'd put it out there...
