I was just on Washington Journal - Thom Hartmann......

My question is one I've had for years: "Why haven't progressives bought a multitude of radio stations?"

His answer made sense. He said in the beginning of the buy of the stations, it's not going to be profitable and it takes time. He also said (I'm paraphrasing) that progressive donors haven't really taken the radio arena all that seriously. I heard (I don't know if he actually did) that Bloomberg was going to donate $100 Million to the Dems. in the 2020 election. I wish these folks would watch the documentary, The Brainwashing of My Dad. Limbaugh, Hannity, etc. are some key elements that got us here!

I believe Thom Hartmann said he has written an Op-Ed for The Nation Magazine (a couple of weeks ago) regarding this issue. I haven't read it yet but will ASAP.

Waiting with bated breath to see who President-Elect Biden

nominates for the position of Attorney General ......

The House of Representatives...

Guys, I'm not understanding why people are concerned when President-Elect Biden choses a Dem. from the House for a position. He's nominating Deb Haaland for Secretary of the Interior but she's from New Mexico which has a Dem. Governor. Doesn't the Governor appoint someone - another Dem - to take her seat? So we haven't lost anything...what am I missing here?

"The Brainwashing of My Dad" (Documentary) - I was able to finally watch it on TUBI

which is a free channel you can access if you have a Roku stick on your T.V. Machine.....

I can't recommend it enough! The content covers a lot issues and situations that many of us here on DU already know about but (at least for me) still delves into some matters I didn't know about.

It's not "high quality" in terms of presentation but that didn't bother me what-so-ever. From what I've read, the creator, Jen Senko, financed it through a grant and Kickstarter.

Does anyone have a video of Rachel explaining in her show tonight

"Uncomfortable Conversations With A Black Man...."

This is soooo good. Emmanuel Acho has several videos out and I think this one was especially good:

About Upthevibe

I've been a member of DU since the very beginning....after that horrible fiasco - the sElection of 2000. My first user name was Lindsey, then I changed it to Nirvana555, and now it's Upthevibe. I had devices crash and I ended up having to change my user name. I've never been one to make a whole lot of original posts, but I consider myself a very active member in that I come to DU almost every day and read the wonderfully informative threads. I can't imagine what life would have been like over the past two decades without DU!
